Upgrade to 4K via a code? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi everyone.
A question: Is it possible to upgrade a movie in a Movies Anywhere library to 4k with a code from a 4k blu-ray? And more importantly, will the upgrade transfer over to other providers such as iTunes. I have a BvS code from the new 4k blu-ray but I already own the HD version on Movies Anywhere. I don't want to burn the code if it doesn't work. Thanks in advance.

Yes, redeeming the code will upgrade your copy on MA and all connected providers.

The is true for vast majority of MA redeem's, still you encounter some exceptions (rare) where the digital code doesn't redeem as 4K.

Examples:
Maze Runner/Scorch Trials are redeemed to 4K, but 4K Death Cure is redeemed only as HD.
Another is the Kingsman: The Secret Service is redeemed as 4K but Kingsman Golden Circle 4K is redeemed to HD also.

Yes, you can redeem a MA 4K code and it will upgrade your HD code to 4K and port out to iTunes in 4K.

Always a good idea to check 4ksheet.com before redeeming a code to see where/how to get the 4k version.

Can I just be pedantic and ask / confirm:
If I have (for example) Blade, First Man, Blade Runner 2049 in HD on MA from codes that I redeemed from Blu Ray sets... if I then buy the 4K Blu Ray and redeem the code(s) from that... my HD versions of Blade, First Man, Blade Runner 2049 will upgrade to 4K?
