Default I bought my first manga today! Akira Vol. 1

Hello all,

I have a long history with the film that I won't bore you with here, but suffice it to say that I love the Akira anime.

With the upcoming UHD 4k release, the hype is all too real for me, and made me think that it's finally time to buy the manga and give it a read.

The local Barnes & Noble only had volume 1 in stock, so I went ahead and picked that up in store. I also placed an order on RightStuf for the other 5 volumes. As I haven't read this before, I am really excited to read this manga series.

Sadly, I am seriously crushed that I was unable to get the Akira 35th Anniversary Box Set. It's absolutely gorgeous, but I kept waiting for a price drop, then it suddenly dried up completely in that past few days.

After moping around, I decided to just go ahead and pick up the regular editions, because I REALLY want to read through all of this before the 4k disc hits here in the USA.

To say that I'm excited is an understatement!
