I'm a big fan of the Cinerama series of BD releases and own almost all of them on BD. I had totaly forgotten they had released a 4K disc of the above.

Nevermind, I went to their site. Looks like another Reavon-type scam. It uses the cheapest DAC available and overly heavy chassis (for no real reason). No unique/ special feature set over any other brands. Not even unique OSD (they use Mediatek default menu system and looks)

8K TV sets to be banned in Europe from March next year because their energy demands are too high.

Could have huge impact on 8K industry as 30% of high end tv sales come from the EU.

For those that stream -- The "Wednesday" series on Netflix is fantastic. It's in 4K DV / Atmos. If they were to somehow release it on 4K disc I would totally buy it.

I've been binging Discovery of Witches on BD since I was sent the new boxed set of the trilogy (three seasons). It's pretty good. Matthew Goode is in it and he's good in it. *snare*

I had Thanksgiving dinner at my brother's house and he and my sister in-law both said they really enjoyed the first episode so I've added it to my queue

That's what we did Thanksgiving day, as well. We just ended up binging it. The funny part was that I had zero interest in the show leading up to it but once the first episode began I was hooked.

1) haven't there been posts about this for a while?
2) this is based on SDR setting on the TV in "normal mode" it is not HDR or other stuff like torch mode....
3) there are a lot of exceptions to the law so it is as useful as a sieve at holding water.
4) let's play devils advocate and assume it is more restrictive than it is. If someone wants they can go out and buy 4 4k 42" displays and add a 2x2 processor and they end up with an 8k 84" TV that wastes a lot more electricity

This is a new ruling. The one made for HD and 4K was more realistic.

This is what happens when people who don’t understand tech get to make the decisions.

The EU have massive sway though. Look at the USB C ruling a short while back. It became a ruling globally.
