Default Arrived!

It took two weeks, but its finally here. Picture quality looks pretty good. Lots of dirt in the gate, but that's to be expected. Wonderful purchase.

I've been thinking of getting this though I am not sure of whether to get this, the digibook or the Volume 1 Blu-ray. Can someone help me on this?

They're both digibooks (unless something about a regular case came out) and I would recommend going for the regular. The Ultimate collector's edition is nice but unless your a shot glass collector or a limited-edition collector, it really isn't that special. There's just a magnetic tin and litho cell in there also. Unless you want those go with the regular

New Platinum BDs versus the "old" Gold DVDs: Is there any rhyme/reason to what's included on one versus the other? Or is it random?

Thanks. Format/PQ concerns aside (a big caveat, I know), can anyone with one or both Platinums and at least two of the Gold DVDs comment on content please? Which sets are "better" in that regard? (I've read one of the site's Platinum reviews and it didn't give any comparative attention to this question.)

Or does the added rez of BD trump the content question to the point that the Platinums are thought better just for being BDs?

Is there no "collector's edition" for Volume 2 ? I mean, an edition with litho cel, glass, tin sign, etc ?

I don't think it's totally random as there are some cartoons that never made the Golden Collection. I think that was done purposely so that completists would have to buy the BDs even if they didn't care about the higher resolution. I also think that someone did consciously make choices - it's just a bit of a mystery as to how or why they made those choices.

Not only is there no "Limited" edition, but the packaging is inferior to Volume 1 (or "doesn't match" volume 1 if you're a person who didn't like Digibooks anyway). It's in a regular blu-ray case with a separate booklet, not a Digibook like Vol. 1 was.

Too bad, I was totally hoping they would follow a pattern both in packaging and content.

Crazy how the volume 1 collector edition still hasn't been sold out yet. Next time it drops in price i'm getting it.

And it's probably "low" sales (given the slightly higher list?) that's the reason.

This is being discussed in the Hot Deals forum, but just in case anyone interested doesn't see it, Volume 2 is now on sale at Best Buy for $17.99.

Yeah, great deal. They won't ship it to you... and it's not available for pickup at any store near me. Great NON deal.

Notify Amazon about the lower price at BB, maybe they'll bite.

had to go out to run some errands, there was a best buy in the area that had 2, grabbed one and told this family who grabbed it after I did to look at it that it was 17.99, when they commented the tag said 42.99
they were shocked I knew it was on sale when no tags were in the area saying the sale price

opened the set and even though it's not a collectors set, the set still looks awesome and very nice for 17.99. Can't wait to start watching it, and hopefully volume 3 comes soon, since we need more speedy gonzales shorts.

Default region b

I am currently looking at buying Looney tunes platinum collection 1 and 2 from amazon in America their site states that collection one is all regions and collection 2 only region A. but this website states collection 2 is b as well I was hoping someone could give me a definitive answer as to wether they both will work on my region b Samsung blu ray player and/or my pal region b PlayStation 3 as this set is unavailable in Australia I have to get it shipped here and I do not want to waste $100 odd dollars getting it shipped here to realise that it will not work.

I tested this on my region b player and volume 2 is free. I also own a region free player.

If you can't hold up, the 4th Volume of the Golden Collections have a WHOLE DISC relegated to just Speedy shorts. None of the GC's are bad, and I'm holding on to them.

Can't wait to get my PC V2, thanks to a poster on here!
