Just got my copy. Gave it a brief look over. The movie is in OAR and is quite grainy (good if you like grain, bad if you don't). Wonderful PQ. Only some slight noise in the darker spots keep it from being perfect. Very nice DTS-HD MA track. Doubt the US version will look any better (in fact I worry about that release considering NL's propensity for DNR). Will try to post a better review when I watch the whole thing.

You can get it from either:
www.mediadis.com (English friendly)
or
www.freerecordshop.nl (Not English friendly but not hard to navigate)

We got a release in Canada already but it is 1:78:1 yuck ( I can think of another word I would rather use but it's not worth the chance of getting kicked of the forums.)

That's strange.Pre-ordered? I ordered mine from freerecordshop.nl two weeks ago,and it came within 3 days.Granted I live in norway, close to netherlands compared to US,but what I find strange is the pre-orderd bit.Thought this had been out a long time....

Maybe email FRS. . . .

According to Free Record Shop it was released on September 2nd. I placed my pre-order on August 29.

I have ordered from Free Record Shop before and from what I remember it took something like 9 or 10 days to arrive. So right now I am beginning to worry.

I think I will email them if it doesn't arrive by tomorrow.

I ordered mine from FRS on September 7th and received Se7en on September 22 and JB on September 23 (they appeared separately). So it ended up taking a little more than two weeks to the US.

BTW- There are PAL trailers before the release. This might upset some players but I was able to skip through them on my Panny BD30.

Looks like I may have to pick this one up along with the dutch version of Traffic. The Canadian versions are not worth the money

EDIT: I did a quick search on mediadis.com and didn't find anything on the 2-disc edition of Traffic, is it not out yet?

Thanks a lot!

Actually a few hours after my post, the package arrived.

I can wait to watch these movies!

Traffic has not been released yet. However it is released in Germany, but from what I have read that version is not worth the money. Barely better than the DVD version.

Well just got through watching it.

PQ: 4/5
Solid overall. Pretty grainy with a nice amount of detail. I saw some mild EE twice during the movie. I saw a couple of scenes with mild print damage. No visible DNR. Faces carried a nice amount of detail. No waxy faces or anything. A bit of noise in the darker scenes.
SQ: 4/5
Pretty dialogue heavy. Most of it was clear and understandable but there were occasions where it was a bit hard to hear, even when the volume was upped. That was my one gripe (fwiw, the open-matted HK version was the same). Weapon, weather and vehicle sounds were clear and punchy.

Very happy with this release overall. If the NL-Warner looks similar, then fans will be in for a treat. If it gets DNR'd, then I would recommend this release as a viable alternative.

Blade review in Dutch:
http://www.dvd-home.nl/review/brhd/bladeBD.htm

Resume: On both PQ and AQ an upgrade!

Gangs of New York
http://dvdinfo.be/bespreking.php?id=5115

Resume: As well as the DVD, this Blu Ray suffers from PQ problems. Edge enhancement is used, however colours look beautiful and natural and the black levels are decent. Not top notch, but better than its DVD counterpart.

I just pulled the trigger on Jackie Brown, Se7en, and Blade. $57 total for all three. Under $20 for three classic catalouge titles, imported. Not bad.

The Seven BD is not worth it in my opinion. Hopefully it gets a better transfer in the US. Then I will import that one.
