I think you are safe to do so. Most reports are very positive.

Hi, I live in the United States.

Any ways to get this Netherlands copy of Se7en. I tried MediaDis and freerecordshop and I'm not sure if they ship to US and how much it is.

Thank you very much.

I'd also like to find a copy of Jackie Brown (a GOOD copy). Anybody know?

I ordered Blade, Jackie Brown, and Se7en from Mediadis. I live in Florida. No complaints.

Thank you. Mediadis doesn't have Jackie Brown or Se7en right now unfortunately.

Is ZonaDVD good? They ship to the US? They have The Mexican on Blu-ray, and I'd like to get that one.

Thank you!

Love the PQ transfer of this disc.Actually its one of the best transfers i have seen in a while.A few bad spots but overall the detail and sharpness is top notch.
Anybody who has sharpness past 15 on their tv and complains about film grain for an older film should crank it way down.So many leaving it on factory setting of 40 to 55 then wondering what the problem is.More happy with the PQ on this film than TDK and many other modern films. Some slight EE but not enough to spoil anything and blacks are the best have seen in a while without crushing detail.

Turns out that the original Dutch RCV release of Se7en is a bit unique in the sense that it is the only blu-ray release that maintains a look that is relatively close to what the film originally looked like in cinema's. The later Warner release has a different form of color correction that was apparently done without the involvement of the director. A very interesting article on the subject: The Mysterious Case of Se7en

I unloaded my RCV copy after getting the Warner release quite a few years ago but recently I have reacquired a copy. I love the film and it should be interesting to see the differences.

There is actually this sentence in the article: "The following is largely speculation".

This is why I find it is best to just figure things out on my own. I saw Se7en in theaters 4 times in the Fall of 1995, and I am very happy with the Warner/New Line Blu-ray. Does the disc look exactly how it did in theaters? I don't remember or care.

Indeed!
HOW do we remember our experiences?
They're all coloured (pun intended) or a bit 'off'.

I grew up in a movie theatre, watched everything that was shown for decades, no matter what genre.

I do have strong feelings of how the films looked back than, but I'm also quite sure that i am fooling myself.

you post that link then still get the information wrong. the dutch blu-ray is the 2000 grade which is vastly different from the theatrical release.

I wonder if this transfer being an AVC transfer compared with the North American transfer being a VC-1 would be better.
