i had no idea about the tin set or else i would have bought it myself. sure a new set should include shit from past sets but i want the rarer shit like maybe we will get lucky and they find deleted scenes. after all they did find some of them at least and i don't think they knew they even still had them. plus put new stuff too not just old stuff.

i still have the dvd set from (2004) wasn't it? that's a pretty sweet set. on blu-ray i just have parts 1 and i think 3. the rest i never see in stores at least with the covers i like and i'm going by as separate releases. hence with the extra's and shit on blu-ray.

unlike when they do double blu-ray's and they take all the deleted scenes off, trailer and everything and just put the films on that drives me nuts when they do that

oh as for The Cinema Snob he's done about 450 episodes now or more. i've been watching him since i think it was April or May i think May of (2011) when i accidently found his stuff through of all places i was just bored one day and i was on the TMNT 80's cartoon board on IMDB just reading threads and it said TMNT porn i go WTF?

so i knew that it wasn't going to be an actual porn but just talk about it, and they had posted his snob episode of that mexican porn spoof from like 30 years ago and i laughed my ass off and sought his site out and i've been a fan ever since. his sleepaway camp episodes are funny as hell too.

i love the first 2 the most the others suck major cock though. for anyone who hasn't seen his stuff he's got a dark sense of humor like me for example and for the past couple months he's been snobbing also religious stuff like the pureflix films for example
so if stuff like that can offend you just don't bother with him you may get offended by it.

but that's not all the stuff he does either.

My 1-8 rewatch continues with Jason Lives, Part 6.

This one on this site seems to be the most popular...well, this one and Part 4. I’ve always enjoyed part 6...but with my rewatch I’ve found myself really enjoying it even more.

One big thing is the overall atmosphere. They’re back at a normal camp ( unlike in Part 5) with kid campers and a few counselors. There’s lots of blowing wind, rustling trees and leaves at night, etc. These are some basic aspects of what a I think should be in every Friday movie.

The characters are also for the most part pretty memeorable. Tommy is also cast and acts miles better in Part 6 as compared to the previous movie.

The dialogue and some self-awareness is also really enjoyable and funny in some parts. “ What WERE you going to be when you grew up?” “ I’ve got the whole enchilada.”

The last final 20 minutes of the showdown with Jason is also handled extremely well. It’s exciting, fast paced and has good plotting.

yes it does have a great ending that's not a question but it's got a lot of bad acting too.

and it's the only one that has the worst acting of them all i think. though to be fair i haven't watched it in a couple years so my mind may change who knows?

what's funny is that when i watch them all i can make it through parts 1-8 no problem than when it comes to parts 9 and 10 i struggle just to make it through both films.

Part VI: Jason Lives is one of my favorites. As you said, the atmosphere is outstanding. It perfectly captures the feeling of a cold, blustery night, almost like the beginning of a rain/thunder storm. Also, Part 6 is the only F13 film featuring a working camp with children. Thom Mathews and Jennifer Cooke were very good and likeable as the heroes. And C.J. Graham's Jason Voorhees looks awesome. Just a very fun horror film. The last *great* F13 film.

Finished rewatching Part 7 ( AKA Carrie vs. Jason).

I liked it overall. I would put it in the mid-range of the first 8 films. It’s not great...but it’s not a bad entry, either. I think having Jason go up against someone who could actually truly fight back was an interesting take. I also liked Tina as a character. God, I hated her doctor ( as we’re obviously supposed to).

I didn’t realize this before rewatching it, but many of the supporting cast of teens remind me of the group from Part 4 for some reason. Other than Crispan Glover, I felt Part 4’s teens were pretty forgettable and so felt the same about the teens in part 7.

One continuity thing I noticed also for the first time: Jason’s mask didn’t have the familiar red markings on it... instead it just had like a black type of shape marking right between his eyes. Why did they change the mask?

The ending battle I thought was ok...until
[Show spoiler] Tina’s dead father jumps out of the lake.
I thought it was much too supernatural and doesn’t really fit with the series.

I have nothing against Kane Hodder. BUT, when viewing this movie ( his first as Jason) the one thing that jumped out at me was Jason is way too buff and tall. In the previous movies, Jason was built like a pretty ordinary guy. Hodder as Jason makes Jason appear to look like a pro-wrestler or something.

CJ Graham is an inch or two taller than Kane Hodder. And the prosthetic body suit certainly added to the increased body size.

Yeah, the camera seems to me to make Hodder look taller than past Jasons’s, even though I believe he is shorter in real life than many of them.

The body suit certainly explains why Hodder’s Jason appears so huge.

No need to worry about the double feature Friday Blu-rays - they carry over all the special features, too.

A Friday film must...I repeat MUST... have Jason throwing a corpse through a window!
Yeah... as big a Friday fan that I am (I often stream a random film at work... much better than listening to music all day) I always wondered about the throwing corpses thru windows.

As big a bad ass as Jason is... he's really throwing Rick and Rob thru those windows in III and IV? It looks like they were catapulted... LOL

Listen to the audio commentary for Part III. That's a live body going through the "glass"....and it doesn't go easy. The filming of it sounds like a horror film unto itself.

Just finished my 1-8 rewatch. Overall, really enjoyed all 8 movies collectively. IMHO, they are so much better than the movies that came after. Not even close.

That being said, I enjoyed seeing Part 8, Jason Takes Manhattan again. While it’s probably near the bottom of the 8 movies for me, I thought there were some good ideas and characters. The main characters were all mostly pretty memorable. Things like the boxing match on the roof are just classic. It’s really too bad that they didn’t have the budget to actually film most of it in New York. The New York scenes are great and it’s a shame there weren’t more like that.

One of the lame things in the plot is that they are on the boat cruise for over an hour of the movie. That felt way too long. Also, the whole thing with the main girl seeing images of young Jason and then the very end scene just seemed unnecessary and the ending was pretty ridiculous.

My final rankings on my rewatch of 1-8 are:

1) Part 2
2) Part 1
3) Part 3
4) Part 6 Jason Lives
5) Part 7 The New Blood
6) Part 4 Final Chapter
7) Part 8 Jason Takes Manhattan
8) Part 5 New Beginning

my favorite has always been Part 2 actually but you do make some good points on the later ones. Kane Hodder is too buff of a guy to play Jason. that's i think another thing that i never cared for because the earlier Jason's are i dunno more realistic? i dunno cause they aren't buff guys. and even after pt 7 jason still looks like a pro wrestler cause Kane Hodder is a buff dude costume or not.

and the other reason is the only one of his that i actually like that he did is part 7. Part 8 is awful but the boxing match if you want to call it that when that dude gets his head punched off and yeah it's easily really fake looking but it's a great kill never the less.

now don't get me wrong i may say that but i don't think he's an awful Jason either it's just the films he's been in well most of them are pretty bad. he also isn't my favorite Jason either for me it's a tie between part 2 and Part 3 i think. my favorite Jason look i think is Part 3 the make-up i mean.

i do find it really funny how parts 2-4 take place in the span of a few days yet he looks well his real face anyways looks different each time in the span of a few days. that just make me laugh that's all

The writer of 7 was told part 4 was the high point of the series and to copy it.

I guess it's a good scare if they come through loud and fast. It's funny because in all these scenes (part 1, 3, 4 and 5) there is a long shot of the window, so obviously something is going to happen.

It's not the constant throwing of bodies through windows that's so incredible, it's the hanging them up in trees in such a way that they only swing down when the Final Girl is within jump scare range.

That's some ridiculous sh*t there!

1stly i also love the look of Jason in part 7 as well. 2ndly i have listened to the part 3 Audio commentary and i remember them talking having someone jump through the window.

kinda like how in Part 1 Tom Savini did it in a wig. that never bothered me at all that it was him doing that, honestly i find it funny as hell. no doubt he does too i'm sure, anyways it's sad that it wouldn't surprise me if that today they'd use CGI for that and yes i could be wrong but my point is they were more daring back than with horror films and i really miss that compared to now where they use CGI for the stupidest things

Is that a real song or did they just make it up for the movie? If it's real, what is it? Thanks.

The lyrics are completely made up, but he sings it to pretty much the exact same rhythm of Frankie Lymon's "Why Do Fools Fall In Love?".

That’s hilarious that parts 2-4 take place in a few days. You’d think the cops would’ve blocked off the area or warned people about coming to the lake after the events in part 2.
