Which will then beg the question, "Why not release them five years ago?!"
Paramount released the F13 1-3 blu-rays in 2009.

Well, now that you mention it...

It's a 10 disc set, and I already own five of them. Of the remaining seven films in the franchise, six of them are crammed onto three discs. The Final Chapter gets its own disc, which is actually a good sign, for those of us waiting to get separate releases. And you get a DVD of previously available bonus materials. This box is pretty much the definition of "thrown together", if you ask me.

Sorry. '09.

But I'd say the point still stands. The first two still look great -- and if we're lucky the rest will look as good. But that's as high as I'm allowing my excitement to get.

Freddy vs Jason also has another distributor in the UK (Entertainment in Video). So that's 3 distributors that need to come to an agreement in the UK (and probably the whole EU) for releasing a complete box.

I guess when the pre-order goes up in August, we'll get the specs on the part 3 Disc.
I don't care about packaging, the artwork, the extras, etc.....just whether or not part 3 is in a NON-anaglyph format. I'd pay the price of the entire set just for that single disc in the proper format.
Too bad some forum member isn't friends with someone at Warners so we could get a straight answer before August.

Any word on if the extras from the deluxe editions dvds will be ported over? I hope they're not just barebones. I love extras. I'm still buying though just to have these in HD.

Dear Blu Ray Gods,

Please make it a legit 3D release for part 3, and have them all in their correct, unbutchered Aspect Ratios.

Signed,

Everyone

-The disc for Part 3 shown in the above image does not have the Blu-ray 3D logo, but they also do not say anything about the anaglyph glasses you'd otherwise need. So who knows? But... it probably won't be.

-Every release of the Unrated version has been cropped, so not gonna happen.

It's about damn time, this is huge news for me! Between this, and the NoES set I got months ago that I haven't even opened yet, I'll be having some decent halloween marathons this year. Now if only some companies could come together for a badass Halloween boxset.

I think that is not gonna happen until all the rights falls into place. Not sure if Disney/Dimension still own the rights to the later films. Pretty sure H2O is someone else now.

I'm not a huge fan of Halloween, but I'd be in for a box set if it included the original films...maybe the 2 remakes too.

Wouldn't Warner Bros. only have access to the print supplied to them by Paramount?

As much as I would want the third to be released in a true 3D format, I just can't imagine a polarized version was made, but they opted to put the anaglyph version on disc. I hope I'm wrong though!

Yep, it's just the original disc repackaged. No "Blu-ray 3D" it is anaglyph 3D.

Thumbs up

I have been watching Part 3 in 2D since I was a kid. I am just fine with it being 2D. I do not need it to be 3D at all.

Someone on this thread said that this box set is the definition of "thrown together." Personally, I do not have a problem with that. They put every film ever made in the franchise in HD, and every single DVD and Blu-ray extra feature ever made all together in one box. That is total bad ass if you ask me.

The Crystal Lake to Manhattan DVD set came out back in 2004. This is nine years later, and undoubtedly there are fans that are younger who never saw the extras from that particular set. The material will be new to them. Also, there are new fans arising every day, so to some of the brand new and younger fans, they will be seeing some of the films themselves for the very first time.

Also, REMEMBER THIS we are getting the Crystal Lake Memories SEVEN HOUR LONG double Blu-ray set. THAT will be out extra features to compliment the Complete Collection box set, not to mention the new On Location at Blairstown book.
