So it sounds like this will be an October release. (Event Horizon was announced today for a Sept. 29 release)

Also, the announcement (if it is F13) comes very close to the "present day" date near the opening of the original 1980 film. Friday, June 13th.

Did they really say, "It is a favorite of ours and the edition looks amazing!"?

That kind of implies a single film, no?

Is it expected that this forthcoming set will include Freddy Vs. Jason and the Reboot?

You really don't get the same experience, though. The red/blue anaglyph version is not the same experience as a polarized version. I get that it'll suck for someone whom doesn't have a projector or 3D TV whom wants to see it in 3D, but that's how it goes, sometimes. If someone doesn't have a region free player or UHD player, it'll suck for them if they want Second Sight's Dawn of the Dead release. At least if included, the option would be there for those whom would have access to it. It wouldn't be the first time SF had done so either, with them releasing Amityville 3-D (although I hope that if they are releasing a 3D version, it's done better than Amityville 3-D).

It hasn't been confirmed that it's from Scream Factory. Most people are guessing it's the box set since everyone "knows" it's coming, and due to the "Tuesday the 9th" part of the announcement.

It's a safe bet that those would be included, just based on SF's history alone (just off the top of my head, the box sets for Halloween, The Omen and The Fly are all perfect examples).

So we could find out if we will ever get that F13 3D we are all pining for?

I tend to think the announcement could be Dawn Of The Dead?

Diabolik already confirmed that it's not Dawn of the Dead.

Gonna have to restrain my fist from going through the computer and if we STILL don't get a true 3d version of part 3.

I don't own a 3D TV, nor do I plan on getting one (or a projector) anytime soon, so I won't be punching my computer if that doesn't come to pass.

That said, with how badly people have requested it (and with how many people have wanted it), it'll be disappointing if a new box set is announced and it DOESN'T have it.

I think asking them to do that with Part 3 might be asking a lot, especially if we want the cost of the box set to remain semi-reasonable. I can not even imagine the cost of transforming that movie to modern 3D.

Why would it be that different than when Scream did Amityville 3-D. Both movies were originally done in polarized 3D (not the red/blue 3D) so it would be comparable, I think. And the Amityville set wasn't overly expensive when it was first released.

Amityville only had 3 movies in it. This has 12, and I can imagine that are putting a lot of effort into all 12 films. This is going to be a much more costly set to produce than the Amityville.

It already is compatible with Blu Ray 3D. It's not like they have to do a modern conversion.

There are people trading unofficial copies of it, and they are stunning, so I don't see why Scream couldn't do it.

We are not talking about red and blue being converted to Real3D.

The only reason for not doing it would be legal reasons I'd imagine.

Oh I absolutely agree. This one will probably cost even more than the Halloween set (which had 10 movies). My point was that making the 3D version in the Amityville set didn't seem to skyrocket costs so it I wouldn't think it would affect costs here that much either (especially since it is already going to be an expensive set).
