No one loves the Friday franchise any more than I do Birtbuffguy. Some of us have seen it presented properly in 3D, many of us own the anaglyph piece of crap and some of us won't double dip for the same disc.
Saying that is "stupid" is a bit strong don't you think? I might think what you said was "stupid" but I wouldn't post it.

I know, right? Shout is equally stupid for releasing Amityville 3D in 3D. I mean why do that with the popularity of 3D TVs and blu-rays. It just is so, so, so stupid that people would want the movie in 3-D especially since I don't like the 3D.

I love the Friday the 13th 3D effects, sure they are cheesy but I think it is A LOT of fun. I would say Friday the 13th 3D is far superior to Amityville 3D and Jaws 3D and would be great to have in the 3D format. What I think is sad are the fans that chastise those who want more than a slapped together boxset.

Well, to be fair, part 3's 3-D actually has a rather colossal reputation. There are folks who swear by it, saying it's probably the most satisfying 3-D experience of their cinematic lives.

But no, I haven't seen it (except in red/blue vision) and I don't own a 3-D TV, so I guess I'm part of the 99%.

And I don't get the "so who cares" part. Obviously some people do. Some people care passionately about slipcovers; at least this is a tangible part of a viewing experience.

I'm sure I'll be buying this set on day 1, but if you expect people to buy the same thing again, most sensible people will want something more than they got the first time.

And the more I think about this set, the less excited I am. I really just wanted 4-8 on blu-ray; I would've settled for 4-6 and I already own the remake (don't tell anyone!) and Vs.

Let's face it, Jason fans, they're getting us pretty good. But hey, better late, thrown together and expensive than never. I guess.

As long as the picture quality is good. Otherwise all bets are off.

Not a huge fan of this franchise, but i all ready own all the releases thus far. Screwed myself again, just like with the nightmare on elm street collection. I hope they will put them out individually sometime so i can get the rest of them one at a time. I couldn't care less about special features/bonus discs for this series. I can do without Jason X too.

Why on earth would they use Jason from Jason Goes to Hell on the cover? So lame!

I wouldn't be so sure of any guaranteed Black Friday deals. The set will not have been out that long, come Black Friday. Not to mention, there's thousands of movies in existence, no guarantee which ones will get deals and which won't. But, there's no harm in waiting, if you aren't itching to have them, right away.

Exactly! And this is why i won't be buying this set. Cardboard slots are horrible and just plain cheap. I own a complete series tv set that has this type of packaging and the discs were scratched and the more you remove them the more damaged they can become. I will wait for individual releases in the future

People stop your griping. I, for one, am very happy these are coming. I don't care HOW they are housed...in sleeves, spindles, taped on. Warner Bros. are releasing the entire franchise on Blu-ray. Damn. Be happy.

How would you prefer they package 10 discs ?
These sets really depend on the quality of the design, the Alien & Star Wars sets are top notch and I have no problems with them.

Right, why would anyone ever want to see a movie in 3-D for the first time? I never saw House of Wax in 3-D in 1953, so what possible interest would I have in seeing it in 3-D in 2013? How silly of me!

But what do they know? Britbuffguy has told us that most 3-D was awful 'back then', so he is clearly the expert and final word on the subject.

I'd prefer them to each be in their own individual case and all put into a a box of some sort. Trust me i am happy these are finally coming out but i hate this type of packaging so much because it's a pain to deal with.

That is what I am saying! The Tin Box, the book, the type font(I know all trivial but still) are just real lazy looking if you ask me. I am not a fan of the use of a tin box to start. I would have loved it if they had either used the original art works or the Deluxe Editions designs. Yeah they did okay by the discs themselves but still. And I would have liked to see all the films have their own discs.

I understand where you are coming from but I can't help to be a tad disappointed with the overall package personally.

I always expect awful cover art/design from the major studios and am rarely disappointed. I remember during the DVD era, when WB would always use original poster art. Those were the days...

I really hope the packaging isn't like Battle Royale or Universal Monster sets! I really dislike those where you have to reach inside a pocket and slide the disc out!!

I know can't beat the original poster art days. I did really like the deluxe editions artwork for this series though, they were fun as where this sets design is not.

The Final Chapter gets its own disc, which is actually a good sign, for those of us waiting to get separate releases. And you get a DVD of previously available bonus materials. This box is pretty much the definition of "thrown together", if you ask me.
It's a comprehensive box set, so of course they're going to include the ones that have already been released before. If you didn't already own five of them (as I don't) would that make it a better value for you? There should be no issues with some of them doubled-up on a single disc. These movies are probably about 85 mins each. Lawrence of Arabia is about four hours and occupies a single disc no problem.

But once again it's the usual whining from the anal-retentive crowd with a side of sense of entitlement. Whether you don't like the packaging, bonus features, choice of picture used on the cover art, that's fine, don't buy it. But just make sure to let the rest of us know that you're taking such a defiant stand in the name of, what exactly?
