I think people should really stop complaining about things like, artwork, packaging, or whether part 3 should be on real 3D or the merits of having Freddy vs Jason and the remake on this collection. To be honest, I think we are extremely lucky that we are getting the entire series on Blu and at the end of the day, having the movies in HD is what really matters!

I agree the complaining is silly; if you don't like this set don't buy it. ...Or wait another 5 years and buy the one that may be released as a last ditch cash in just before the rights expire.

Can't wait for the documentary in August. And this set in September and then hopefully an announcement soon for a new movie.

And even if this set came bare bones with just the Blu-ray discs, SO WHAT? We have the 7+hours documentary coming out in August. What else do you need?! Some people are just never satisfied. All I can say is don't buy it. Do without. But, I will be getting this day one.

I was thinking the same thing. It's still a nice little set though.

I am more concerned with PQ and AQ than the front of the packaging. Could it have been better? Sure. Does it matter at this point? No. As long as we have had to wait for this set to even see the light of day, it doesn't matter about the cover. I think it would have been just fine to slap the title on the front and that's it. Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday is not my favorite movie by FAR, but, the picture looks fine. The cover looks fine.

Why should we not complain about it not being available in real 3-D? The movie was made to be seen in 3-D. They will and have made a lot of money off Friday the 13th - enough money from all the fans that they could release this correctly.

We are so lucky that it even gets an HD release when it was one of the most popular horror franchises ever? Please. Scream Factory would have snatched this up and would have at least released the 3rd one correctly but WB were not fools to give this series away because they know there is money in it. But instead of leasing it to a company that would do it right, they release it themselves without a care of what the fans want and make a quick buck. And the fans just feel so lucky that this obscure series has seen the light of day in HD.

Some horror fans DO complain too much but others are just too easy to please.

I realize some things are important to some fans, and not important to others. I for one, don't care about part 3 being on 3D, I don't really care if it was meant to be seen that way or not, I still enjoy it. This is a matter of opinion, there is no right or wrong. What matters to me the most is to have the entire series in HD, period. You either buy the set or you don't. Simple as that.

Great so if people want it on real 3-D, don't tell them it's not worth complaining about just because you are happy as a clam to get them in HD.
And please don't act like we are lucky that this series is getting a HD release. They are lucky that they have fans that eat this franchise up and with that price tag, they could have released the 3rd one with real 3-D.

Who knows, Warner Bros. has the rights to release the Paramount library for 5 years, right?

They could have it pipelined for a release down the road, after a proper restoration?

If I was at the UN complaining about the packaging it would be one thing but since this is a discussion site for blu-ray discs your post is completely stupid.

No, but you'd think (as someone pointed out) that they'd talk up the 3-D in the press release, and the disc doesn't have a 3-D logo where one usually is.

Look - I'm a big fan of the series. And yes, It would be nice to have part 3 on real 3D and done properly. I know there's a lot fans out there that would love that too. What I'm saying is, that I don't really care one way or another, just my own personal opinion. It is what it is and if this is what we are getting right now, then I'm okay with it as it's better than to have nothing. And yes, we are lucky. Paramount had not intentions of releasing the rest of the series on blu. The just about given up on catalog titles, however, we should be thankful that WB came to the rescue and secured that distribution deal with Paramount. Otherwise, we wouldn't have gotten anything from Paramount, at least not for now.

I like the look of the packaging. I also liked the look of the Universal Monsters set. What I didn't like was having to return three of them to amazon.com because the two middle discs were covered in so much glue that even after cleaning as much off as I could they wouldn't even spin in my player.

Bleh, I WANT this set so if I don't like the packaging I will just stick it into real cases, even if I can't find custom art to put in them.

From what I read Paramount had the transfers ready on the sequels that weren't released. We've been waiting because WB/Paramount have been working out rights over the films. The same reason why we had to wait for a sequel to the remake. So again, I don't think luck has anything to do with them releasing probably the most iconic horror franchise ever but hey if you think you are lucky, more power to ya.
