They still release unrated versions. There was a big rumor that they didn't when The Hills Run Red was released and it was completely false.

I own the first three, Freddy vs. Jason, and the 2009 film on Blu-ray. I also own the Killer Extras DVD, because I own the Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set. I also own EVERY extra feature in the set in the Crystal Lake to Manhattan box set, the Deluxe Edition box set and all the other releases. I also own the hard cover autographed first edition of Crystal Lake Memories.

Therefore, I would be paying $95 for four Blu-rays, a tin box, and a camp counselor patch. That just does not seem worth it to me anymore.

If they released all the discs in the set separately, I would be willing to pay maybe $15 each for The Final Chapter, A New Beginning/Jason Lives, The New Blood/Jason Takes Manhattan, and Jason Goes to Hell/Jason X.

They wouldn't allow the director of The Hills Run Red to release an unrated version of the film and the only unrated version that I can remember them releasing since then was the first Hangover. Any time since then they have submitted the movie to the ratings board. They do release extended cuts of movies but they all having MPAA ratings.

Exactly. If you've looked up all the extended versions released since The Hangover, you'd find out they're all rated by the MPAA. The majority of the unrated releases listed on WBshop.com are past unrated(including numerous New Line releases, which WB now fully controls) releases before Warner went all wussy(again), and any 'new' unrated releases like The Dictator which is listed on their website is just because it's a re-release of the Paramount release since they have distribution rights to Paramount titles at the moment. But for new release movies, you'll definitely see a lack of unrated releases from Warner produced/owned films.

Part 1 should be the same as the one previously released by Paramount. I highly doubt Warner will go through all the trouble and expense of re-pressing it to release the theatrical cut which has never been on Blu.

Now, where I am really concern is with JGTH....If they indeed release the R rated version, Then I just rather watch my old unrated DVD instead since the PQ is decent anyway...

Amazon says it should arrive on Friday the 13th, I sure hope it does because I am hosting a Friday the 13th Marathon that night and would love to use the new Blu-Rays.

This is incorrect.

Horrible Bosses, Green Lantern, The Hangover, Harold and Kumar, Striptease, Eyes Wide Shut, the list goes on & on. Aside from Eyes Wide Shut, all released on various formats long after The Hills Run Red.

To say that they resubmit all extended cuts to the MPAA and pay to have them reclassified is false.

I never got around to purchasing the from camp crystal lake dvd set, but the bonus dvd, doesn't it contain material that was later re-used on some of the deluxe editions? Does that mean the blu-rays will include features that will be present on the bonus dvd as well meaning a redundant selection of special features? Or could the fear of no deluxe edition special features be true?

This comes from someone who only owns the first on blu and the 3rd on DVD. I've been waiting for this collection.

Coming from someone who's bought damn near every release of these films on home video (minus laserdiscs), I'm pretty sure all new extras were commissioned for the deluxe edition DVDs/Blus. I don't recall any of the Killer Extras from the 2004 box set being duplicated. Even the commentaries on that box set were never used again, they recorded all-new ones in 2009. So you can bet I'm going to keep holding onto that one.

What I'm curious about, though, are those extras that were recorded for the Deluxe editions. On the Blu-ray releases of 1-3, all the extras were duplicated from the DVDs, in HD no less. The DVD releases for 4-8 were just as packed, so are those extras going to be included on this box set, or should I hold onto the Deluxe DVDs?

Out of interest... am I the only one who would prefer a Paramount only box set?

Parts I-VIII (1980-1989)

I didn't care for the New Line sequels or remake.

Of course you're not the only one.

I think most fans (well, smart fans anyway ) would prefer individual releases for all of the F13 movies, and then they could buy the ones they want. In no way do I want to re-buy F13 1-3, FvsJ, and F13 '09.

OH Yeah, I would have totally preferred a box set of just the Paramount years...I look at the New Line titles as sort of spin offs to the original series.
