Alright, lets move on from this 3D arguing and bring some positive stuff to the thread.

So, what are some things everyone likes about this set?

Since in my 1200 Dvd set collection Purge to try to make some rent money last fall, it would be super amazing to have them all where I can watch them again. Whenever I was bored, I'd always throw on one of them for background.

I spared my Blu's in said Purge, so I only have the VS and the Remake...which themselves will be getting sold whenever I pick this bad boy up. I still haven't found a great job to get back on my feet with, so if it's anything over 70 bucks sale price, I'll have to wait.

All these Buy One Get One Free sales this year have got me a small fraction of my collection back. At least it will all be Blu from here on out right?

As much as these films all coming is a good thing, I'm honestly more floored by the CLM thing. I've sen the movies hundreds of times, but hearing those little side stories only the cast & crew can tell....that's gonna be seven hours of Heaven!

The whole anaglyph conversion was a hack job. I'm surprised at all the fans in here who are totally ok with part 3 getting such a hack-job release. And the 3D haters say we're not the fans. Actually, I'm enough of a fan that I'm outraged that they think so little of their fans.
"outraged" bloody hell, calm down dear.

Why don't all the people who don't want this set because of the 3D(a perfectly acceptable stance) move on to another thread instead of posting the same thing over and over again. There are posters on here who act like its an unalienable human right to see every film in its perfect way.

That right there might be the dumbest thing I've read all year. You are aware you NEED earbuds to listen to an Ipod, but you do NOT need 3D to watch part 3 right? I hope you know this.

I guess pending doom of the home market is incorrect, since it's never really taken off.

ESPN 3D is closing because they can't raise enough revenue from it (no longer includes the subsidies to pay for the broadcast), that is why FIFA and NBC are going to can their 3D broadcast plans for next years World Cup and Olympics, respectively.

3D is going to be left to BD and digital downloads, and the majority of the public does not care. (Remember, you're in a home theater enthusiast forum, representing less that 1% of the general population...)fitprod
exactly. 3D blu ray is a niche within a niche.

they know that this set will sell well with or without part 3 on real 3D. why should they go through all that effort to satisfy so few people? I know that if the set cost $160 and had a true 3D part 3 I wouldn't be as happy as I am now with it at $130 ($90 sale price)

This is true and it also leaves them the ever popular double (triple) dip opportunity to release it in true 3D somewhere down the road, especially if the set sells like it should

I don't have a horse in this race, but to be honest, the people complaining about the lack of real 3-D aren't nearly as grating as the aggressive "glass half full" people lashing back.

I understand that there's probably very little Warner could do under the circumstances, and I was fully expecting the first three discs to be the same 2009 releases repackaged. I also generally despise 3-D and have no intention of buying a 3-D ready TV.

But this is a genuine grievance. Friday the 13th part 3-D is, supposedly, among the very best uses of this gimmick in cinema history. People write about it the way others write about seeing Zeppelin or going to Lourdes.

Come to think of it, as someone who is buying the set regardless, there's a good chance that including an authentic 3-D release probably would've goosed me into investigating 3-D TVs down the line; it's really the only film I have any interest in seeing that way -- but I really really want to do so at some point.

We can give the people pining for 3-D a bit more understanding, can't we? Lord knows I've waded through reams of blather about "slipcover this" and "steelbook that".

Any word if these are going to be the uncut versions or just the theatrical versions? I think it's Jason goes to Manhattan that has an uncut version

texas chainsaw massacre the beginning usa Blu-ray release press sheet also lists rated r only no unrated I remember a few years ago when warner bros released hills run red direct to dvd the director said warner changed their ratings to no longer release unrated dvds of films or something dumb like that but it may still be true if both Jason goes to hell and Friday the 13th will only have the theatrical version I doubt it because warner bros reissued the first 3 on Blu-ray I thought same disc as paramount release but Jason goes to hell may not be the unrated version after all! here is the press sheet for this set here runtimes at the bottom notice Jason goes to hell says 88 min not the unrated 91 minute runtime https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater

Seems like you misunderstood the point--pretty sure it wasn't "without glasses you can't see the movie", it was "people who bash 3D by saying they don't want to have to put on glasses to watch a movie (like myers23, who mar3o was replying to), yet happily wear earbuds to listen to their ipod, are being inconsistent".

Personally, I'd prefer to see part 3 in 3D, but the lack of it wouldn't stop me from buying this set, if it drops in price a bunch. The Nightmare on Elm Street set is currently going for $32.99, so hopefully the price on this will drop too.
