So WW84 going to HBO Max. Will play free to existing subscribers for about a month then release into theaters and eventually home video. Merry Christmas!

With a second wave of COVID-19 impacting many parts of the globe, Wonder Woman 1984 is changing course yet again.

The tentpole is all but giving up on a traditional theatrical release and will instead bow in whatever cinemas remain open Dec. 25 as well as stream on HBO Max in the U.S. for one month beginning on Christmas Day. In international markets where HBO Max is not available, the film starts rolling out Dec. 16.

I am keeping a track of streaming bit rates in my spreadsheet. Wherever it is way too deficient and the picture is not satisfactory, I buy the disc version. this way I need not buy every disc that's out there and keep it to bare minimum.

Btw, I jumped to digital as I ran out of shelf space. It's simply not affordable for me and I am not going to bury my head in the sand and pretend that high quality streaming is shite.

Anyway, my last post in this thread. Enjoy debating whilst I enjoy both formats subject to time and convenience.
You are resorting to hyperbole now. No one said that "streaming is shite." If it were "shite" we would not use it at all.

What was said was that we still see compression artifacts even with the best streaming sources. The only subjective part to this is how much any given one of us cares about that fact.

One of the ones I was waiting for was District 9 4K, so grabbed that when it popped up. I also grabbed the Blu-ray for the Watchmen tv series for $10 and the 2nd Fantastic Beasts on 4K, but I am now probably on some list somewhere because Johnny Depp is in it.

100% yes. How do you reach those conclusions from my post?

Sad times meaning no global cinema release and a debut on a service limited to 1080p and DD 5.1.

To me that is sad times. Do I believe the theatrical experience will return? 100% yes.

So long as titles still come to disc, I do not care who gets them first. I have plenty to watch in the meantime.

I haven't watched the first Wonder Woman yet and I have it in 3D even; that shows you how much of a hurry I am in to be among those who see something the instant that it is released.

. Do you have Disney+? If so, have you watched any of The Mandalorian and what did you think of the Atmos sound track? For me, it is really lacking?

I don’t have it, but have been tempted to in order to watch it. I have heard the same about it, so have held off since I know I would be probably disappointed with the mix.

I don’t have as many discs waiting to be watched as Vilya, but I still have 3 seasons left of Bates Motel and Boardwalk Empire. I haven’t started 12 Monkeys yet and just picked up Watchmen today. In December season 4 of the Expanse is released so I have more than enough tv shows on disc to keep me occupied. Side note on the Expanse is that it is one of the best sounding tv shows I have heard.
