The first three are 50, 60, 70 era sitcoms, but not #4 and onward. Its like what am I watching, until you see that there are two things happening which is a reality as seen from the outside and a reality as seen from the inside.

I am right there with you. Apparently if you want to hunt for Marvel Easter eggs, that is the place to be.

Just picked up a copy of the new remaster of Bad Boy Bubby:

It will definitely be one at the top of my watch list when my AVR comes back from repair.

Love it when Kathryn Hahn (Agne) sees the interviewer collecting blu rays.

She refers to herself and husband as streaming streaming junkies but says they always wanted to have a blu-ray collection. Just a good example that many people out there are into both ways to watch content.
I enjoyed seeing her reaction too, John. Thanks for posting this.

Episode 4 is the sweet spot.

The Blu-ray and 4K players I own which have dual hdmi outputs, I run the video for them straight to the tv. All of my consoles passthrough the receiver. I don't play games anywhere near as much as I watch movies... When I bought the new consoles recently, I instantly noticed it. It had been a couple of months since I had last played a game. It happens with all sources going through the AVR. My first instinct was to test the HDMI leads, so I decided to buy all new ones, from Monoprice, as some of them were a decade old, and weren't premium certified. After I changed all of the cables out, which was a bit of a task, the fault was still there. I then ruled out the tv as being the culprit. After that I did a factory reset on the Denon, hoping it would fix it, unfortunately not. I then went to recalibrate it, thinking that I could at least use it for Blu-ray audio, which lead to discovering another fault, it wasn't picking up anything through the calibration mic.

For international members that are interested in this title, and are not used to seeing the Australian classification logos on your domestic releases, the logo in the previous photo is a sticker, here are a couple of photos after I unsealed it from the factory wrapping:

I’m at a hotel that has Netflix and D+

Honestly despise Netflix so much I can’t force myself to watch Cobra Kai so I’ll have to either import the blu or buy the DVD. Maybe when it’s over a set will be on Blu in the US.

I am enjoying Wanda Vision though. I would buy that if owning it becomes an option.

The Australian and UK Blu-ray's of Cobra Kai season 1 aren't pretty either (I didn't pay for the Australian Blu-ray version at least, the local distributor gave me a free copy) there is banding all over the place, so watch it on Netflix while you can for free. I haven't watched the UK disc of season 2 yet, but I suspect it's going to be similar, as all 10 episodes are on a single BD50, like season one. Perhaps look at the German versions of season 1 & 2, as each season is spread over 2 discs.

Pity if good content never gets good representation.

Someone said something in another thread about how if technology didn’t improve it would be a first time ever. I disagree. I think there has been plenty of times new tech is inferior and aside from the issue of control that’s the reason I campaign against streaming. The quality is the pits but younger people want it free or seemingly cheap and they seem to not be bothered by not having the best possible quality.

I don’t think i will watch much here because it’s an island and we get 3Mbs and the Westinghouse tv speakers manage to be awful regardless of the volume setting. (We rely on captions to get the dialog) Just have to enjoy the beach and catch up on Stuff when I get back home.

Chasing a gremlin in a system can be a bit maddening at times, but sometimes it is as simple as a cable, which is also where I try first. Hopefully you get your Denon back soon.

I’m not sure why I only buy Denon AVRs. Half on mine have had HDMI board problems. Thankfully new capabilities have kept me interested in new models so they don’t have to last all that long. My speakers are mostly 21 years old and only need new foam (or hybrid rubber) surrounds on the woofers to keep on being awesome.

(I have bought the AVRs refurbished though)

It's the first Denon I've owned, and it's also the first fault ever had with my gear, when it comes time to upgrade again, there is a high chance that I won't choose Denon ever again.

Hopefully it is still under warranty.

Vilya had his Denon die on him, but I know he had it for awhile.

Yeah, it's covered by warranty... If it wasn't under warranty though, I'd still likely be able to get it repaired for free, as Australian consumer law overrides the manufacturers warranty, and usually protects us pretty well outside of the warranty period for quite a while.

I guess you and I need to graduate to “separates”. (I think that’s what the next level is called) mono price may be the key.
