I am right there with you. Apparently if you want to hunt for Marvel Easter eggs, that is the place to be.

Just picked up a copy of the new remaster of Bad Boy Bubby:
IMG20210216124046.jpg It will definitely be one at the top of my watch list when my AVR comes back from repair. Quote:

The hdmi board started acting up:
The Blu-ray and 4K players I own which have dual hdmi outputs, I run the video for them straight to the tv. All of my consoles passthrough the receiver. I don't play games anywhere near as much as I watch movies... When I bought the new consoles recently, I instantly noticed it. It had been a couple of months since I had last played a game. It happens with all sources going through the AVR. My first instinct was to test the HDMI leads, so I decided to buy all new ones, from Monoprice, as some of them were a decade old, and weren't premium certified. After I changed all of the cables out, which was a bit of a task, the fault was still there. I then ruled out the tv as being the culprit. After that I did a factory reset on the Denon, hoping it would fix it, unfortunately not. I then went to recalibrate it, thinking that I could at least use it for Blu-ray audio, which lead to discovering another fault, it wasn't picking up anything through the calibration mic. I’m at a hotel that has Netflix and D+
Honestly despise Netflix so much I can’t force myself to watch Cobra Kai so I’ll have to either import the blu or buy the DVD. Maybe when it’s over a set will be on Blu in the US. I am enjoying Wanda Vision though. I would buy that if owning it becomes an option. |

The Australian and UK Blu-ray's of Cobra Kai season 1 aren't pretty either (I didn't pay for the Australian Blu-ray version at least, the local distributor gave me a free copy) there is banding all over the place, so watch it on Netflix while you can for free. I haven't watched the UK disc of season 2 yet, but I suspect it's going to be similar, as all 10 episodes are on a single BD50, like season one. Perhaps look at the German versions of season 1 & 2, as each season is spread over 2 discs.

Pity if good content never gets good representation.
Someone said something in another thread about how if technology didn’t improve it would be a first time ever. I disagree. I think there has been plenty of times new tech is inferior and aside from the issue of control that’s the reason I campaign against streaming. The quality is the pits but younger people want it free or seemingly cheap and they seem to not be bothered by not having the best possible quality. I don’t think i will watch much here because it’s an island and we get 3Mbs and the Westinghouse tv speakers manage to be awful regardless of the volume setting. (We rely on captions to get the dialog) Just have to enjoy the beach and catch up on Stuff when I get back home. Last edited by bhampton; 02-16-2021 at 10:59 AM. |

Yeah, it's covered by warranty... If it wasn't under warranty though, I'd still likely be able to get it repaired for free, as Australian consumer law overrides the manufacturers warranty, and usually protects us pretty well outside of the warranty period for quite a while.
