Another example of blu-ray.com math:

I deleted a single title DVD from my collection because I had entered the wrong edition. My DVD tally increased by 9. I then added the correct DVD edition and my DVD total went up by 1 more. What should have been a zero sum transaction instead added 10 to my DVD total.

I never rely on this site for showing accurate totals. I keep my own lists and scorecards because I can still do arithmetic.

So you aren't the big physical media supporter we all think you are? Blu-ray.com just erroneously adds thousands to your totals?

My totals are accurately arrived at.

When I add a title to my collection here, blu-ray.com usually gets it right, but once in awhile insanity like this happens.

I use the collection feature to make sure I don't accidentally buy something I already have

And to see what I have on Blu Ray that is now available on UHD BD for when I do want to buy something I already have.

it is all relative, with over 100 years of fllm I can understand the descriptive or "recent", on the other hand a few years ago my nephew said that his friend won't watch a film before 1998 (year he was born) because they are just too old to be interesting.

Very similar situation with me. As a kid I always remember my dad watching westerns on TV. I usually watched them with him, but never really took that much notice to be honest with you. However as I grew a bit older, I got to enjoy them more and more to the point where I now love classic westerns - so I have my old dad to thank for that.

You would think I would be the same but it just looks fake to me. Same with some of the old war films. It looks far more authentic these days imo.

I tend to prefer films from late 60’s onwards. There are exceptions of course. The Wizard Of Oz, The Cat People, etc..

Oh I love the old horrors too - even as a kid, I adored them. The Universal horror films from the 30's and 40's are legendary, truly outstanding films in my opinion. However RKO Pictures produced some great horror movies in the 1940's too, including the one you mentioned, and a couple of Boris Karloff films come to mind, The Body Snatcher, and Isle of the Dead.

You're right, I grew up watching Movies with my Mom Old Classics. From my IPTV I store and watch Old TCM, with Actors like Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Becall, Anthony Quinn, Clark Gable, and other Stars from the Silver Screen. I love those Old Movies, but I guess if you can't relate to those Old Actors they won't be interesting. Those Old Classics are the Love for Film!

I am grateful that I enjoy a wide variety of movies from all eras.

Sometimes I see watching an old movie as my own personal time machine. It is a way of seeing how people of that time perceived their world and for the duration of that movie I get to experience it with them.

Yes, groundbreaking stuff for the time. Hammer horror is a whole different ballgame. Even enjoyed their 80’s tv series.

It is from the the movie To Have And Have Not. The full quote by actress Lauren Bacall is:

Excellent collection of films there.
You'll enjoy Christopher Lee's City of the Dead, very atmospheric and eerie. Probably one of my favourite of Lee's non-Hammer films.

That Val Lewton set looks great. I don't have it unfortunately, but I do remember seeing Bedlam and The Leopard Man as well, which I think are also included here.

I haven't spoken to my dad in 20 years.. The best way I could describe him is as a cross been Yosemite Sam and a member of ZZ TOP. He is (was? I don't know if he's still kicking)a huge John Wayne and classic Western fan. He kinda enjoyed sticking out like a sore thumb up here in the great white north...

If it's not called UNFORGIVEN or directed by TARANTINO, I'll give it a pass..

I love the Hammer films too mate. If my memory serves me correctly, sometime in the late 70's/early 80's when BBC used to put on horror double-bills on a Saturday night, I think they would sometimes put on a Hammer film followed by one of the Universal horrors. For me, this was pure TV heaven.

The 80's TV series is brilliant. I take it you'll have the superb blu-ray set from Network.
