I think if I had MadVR I would tune things up endlessly instead of watching movies endlessly. These days it's right from the Panasonic UB9000 through the AVR to the Projector.

I did use and love MadVR years ago when it was part of JRiver and I had an HTPC. That was before HDR. I had DisplayCal GUI make a 3DLUT for my projector. Certainly felt like state of the art at that time. For all I know, JRiver is still the best way to setup an HTPC.

Arriving today -

And the big fish -

Volver, City of the Lost Children, Grouchy Tiger, Run Lola Run .... I'm so excited!

Damnit Wendell! I have just spent an hour reading reviews and looking at screen caps on the Lumagen Radiance.

Misery loves company!!

I have looked on and off for several years but with HDR being what it is and the scaling capability has me looking real serious. Next week I will ask the owners at AVS with scope screens (2.35, 2.39, 2.40) how they use theirs to view 1.78, 1.85, 1.9, 2.0 and 2.39 content.

I also like the HDMI switching and the number of HDMI outs the Radiance Pro has. Would be a fairly easy addition to the equipment rack because it is 1RU height (without feet) and standard EIA 19". The Envy that I saw was in a much larger case.

Afraid I can't stay with Netflix Classic much longer. So many DVDs, all the time fewer Blu-rays. Often surprises me the pretty well known movies they only have on DVD. 918 rentals since 2016. Lately I'm renting more and more frequently ones I already rented when I started, because there's so little left. Thought I'd stay with them until the end.

Cancelled this today, then ordered again shortly after Sony's customer service finally resolved my Columbia Vol. 3 issue. Amazon already charged me, so I guess it will ship out tomorrow or maybe the day after. Not a Prime member.

FYI - The Sony Pictures Classics set comes with no digital copies.

I watched Run Lola Run and Volver yesterday and both are significant upgrades over my Blu Ray copy.

No doubt. Between the two, the Lumagen is more manageable and has a lot of the same capabilities and features. Happy hunting!

We certainly are in a dry period. Hardly any tentpoles on the horizon. The folks at Redbox have been talking how the lack of new titles is hurting their bottom line.

A lot has changed in the last several years in regards to home entertainment. Really miss going to Fry’s when in the Atlanta GA or Austin TX area. Hated to see HH Gregg go under, heck, I even miss the Rat Shack.

The one I was really sad to see go was Heathkit along with Dynaco and Haffler. Heath was on the cutting edge with several products. The AJ-1510 FM Tuner was the first tuner that was digitally tuned (PPL)* and used a digital pulse width discriminator for analog audio recovery. Mine was in service > 30 years.

Wanted but could not afford a Heath 25 or 27 inch color TV. It had a remote control and could control a programmable antenna rotor, it changed antenna direction that you associated with your local channels. Had several other first, a DEC PDP11 computer in kit form, a Scientific Atlanta satellite receiver in kit form. They had several pieces of amateur radio equipment that was quite poplar.

Had a Heath AR-29 AM/FM Receiver for a few years, sold it and the new owner used it for many years. Still have a Heath Function Generator and a AC VTVM with dB scale

*Not the type of PPL (Phase Locked Loop) that NASA used (uses ?) for control, telemetry, etc.

Off nostalgia box.

Ever more toys for the toybox:

^This release is getting some bad reviews (https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Plane...321472/#Review ) and the rear surround audio is reversed, but this release does include 75 minutes of never before seen deleted scenes. I have to have it for that alone.

(mine came w/o a digital code sheet )

bhampton caused me to buy this one.

More Peter Cushing!

Vintage 1954 3D movie!

and

It's nice to now have all of Night Gallery on blu-ray.

Quite a few years ago we flew into Bryson City to go white water rafting on the Nantahala River, it was a grass airstrip and the plane was a rented Piper 6 place Comanche. In later years we did the Great Smoky Mountains train ride and have driven the city numerous times via auto. So for us Bryson City is the town of Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

I don't think I have an extra one.... Sometimes I wind up with codes I can not use. I think Universal will give you one though if you ask.

I hope you enjoy the Nick Cage Movie.

Agreed, Happy Holidays days to everyone!!

Stay safe, contrary to what some say, CV-19 is not over. We have not changed our safeguards at all. There is no guarantees, have a nephew and niece that were very careful but still contracted CV-19. Both were vaccinated and had boosters so their downtime was pretty minimal.

Anyone else here besides Vilya and Steedeel have CV-19? Just glad they recovered so we could resume our 's.
