Not really because it's just been the gangsta party line arguing over reliable internet speeds. I tuned out for awhile. I think VUDU's system is an acceptable compromise for convenience.

Read the link I posted. Despite Octagon disputing it, the author suggests (in my opinion) that the world is shifting to mobile for video via the internet. Can’t see any other meaning for it but as usual, I’m wrong and the elders are correct. I’m just imagining (apparently) the mobile revolution and the trend of watching content on tiny screens.

I don't know if that's true, I'd have to see the numbers. But it makes sense. If the market were trending towards streaming, why would studios even release 4K UHD discs, or even keep making discs? How many people do you know who still buy DVDs? If nobody bought them, they wouldn't still keep making them. I think both discs and streaming will still be around for awhile. CDs, and even vinyl records, are still being sold even though people probably buy iTunes downloads more.

Thanks, at least you agree with me. Shame others can’t see the smartphone revolution coming.

By the way, doesn’t that concern you? Imagine having to watch Avatar 2 or The Dark Knight on a flipping mobile screen.

I'm not saying that discs are not higher quality. I'm just upset that rentals cost so much on platforms like VUDU or iTunes compared to Redbox. Discs are higher quality but unless you're watching on a bigger display, it's not that noticeable. Like on my 42" Panasonic plasma and even my desktop PC's display, I can see the difference between VUDU HDX and Blu-ray. On my laptop, tablet or phone, can't tell. And even on my TV and desktop PC display, VUDU HDX looks pretty decent. I don't find it difficult to enjoy even though the quality is lower than disc.

You are like a politician, answer my question. Please. Are YOU happy with watching blockbuster films on a cellphone as your ONLY option, yes or no?

This post borders on violating the terms of service of this site for personal attack, but no I'm not happy watching blockbuster films only on a mobile device like a cell phone. What do you care how other people watch movies anyway as long as the choice you want exists? The major film studios are not going to stop making Blu-ray discs just because I watched a movie on VUDU with my desktop PC today.

I have a life, thanks. Movies are a huge part of that. It’s what I’m passionate about since I was a little boy.

In this future no one watches movies with other people? Or are they all huddled around an iPhone like kids at summer camp around a dirty magazine? Or is everybody on their own phone not speaking or acknowledging each other?

Their own phone just like now mainly. Of course 2 people could still watch the same show just on 2 different phones. Nothing stopping them talking to each other.

Dude...

Gotta be perfectly synchronized audio wise, can’t use headphones if they want to interact with the other people in the room, both sitting facing downwards, come on lol.

Well, why do th y need headphones? You would imagine phone speakers will get better and better the more people rely on them for media. Maybe just use headphones when alone or in bed. This miserable future is coming, and everyone investing in digital is hurrying the process.

Because synchronized audio is gonna be damn near impossible so one phone would be the dominate or you’d need a speaker. If you’re going to that effort, watch a tv.
