This should be interesting.
They will definitely have a Carrie Fisher tribute, but will also talk about what impact her death on Episode 8 and 9 will be. More Rebels News. New Thrawn book. Obi-Wan movie confirmation (hopefully) or even a Darth Vader movie would be great. More news on Han Solo movie (why are we even getting that ?) Maybe more news on Episode 9. |

With this being the 40th Anniversary, if they don't announce a release of the unaltered trilogy, I give up all hope of it ever happening in my lifetime (or at least until the 50th)

Yeah its first come first serve for these. You'll have to find the place you want to go and sit in line for hours until it's time for the event. I've been to 2 so far and this will be my 3rd. My advice is to keep an eye out on the Celebration website, they should be releasing a schedule for all the events soon. Once they do that print\save it and start planning which ones you want to attend. You're going to want to do that because once you get there you'll be hit with a lot of information and you find that a lot of events happen at the same time and you don't want to have to make a last minute decision cause that could cost you. Also download a map to the convention center it self. It's pretty big and the getting a map now will help you learn it now instead of on the site. Hope that helps!

Not sure if it'll be unaltered. If I had to make a guess, no. :| But what would be really cool if that they offer all three versions on the 4K. Can you imagine the money? |

For the first timers, be prepared to wait in lines for the major panels and also any exclusives.
For the Anniversary panel on Thursday and the Episode 8 panel on Friday, most likely the line will start the night before. So be prepared to be up all night if you want to guarantee a seat for yourself. Otherwise if you want some sleep, get in line early (I would say around 4 or 5 in morning). If it's like the past two Celebrations, they will hand off bracelet's in the morning for the big panels and that bracelet will allow you admittance to the panel room. I think the big auditorium at the OCCC can hold around 2 or 3 thousand tops. So space will be limited. As for the rest of the convention, like someone already posted get a lit of the panels you want to see and a good map of the convention center. There is an official Celebration Mobile App that is really awesome that has saved me in the past. The App has a map of the center and also a list of all of the panels going on that day. |

I've been to the previous 3 here in the U.S. and there's been more and more people each time. I don't expect that to change with this one, which I'm also attending.
As to what to expect...lines. A LOT of lines. If you want one of the exclusive toys, you'll need to stand in line, probably a long line. If you want into the general store for the 'regular' merchandise...last time in Anaheim it took and hour or two get "in" to the store, and probably an hour or two in the checkout line. (hopefully THAT improves this time around). Celebration V & VI most of the smaller panels didn't really require lining up early. Anaheim...EVERY panel required it. The difference is that for CV & CVI there weren't any current/new star wars movies. Now that there are, it draws much larger crowds. They did add a new building to the convention center. I don't know if the new "north" building is going to be used for this or not. Hopefully it is. Oh...and the Thursday morning line to get in on the first day....also crazy long that last time around people camped out for starting (I think) 10 pm Wednesday. |
