Default I posted this on AVS......

and there has not been a response yet for like 15 minutes...LOL

I have been reading all of the posts in here and had to start posting now. why cant people just let the fact that WB going exclusive to blu-ray be what it is. Everyone keeps making excuses to defend HD-DVD and they will survive. Im sorry but there is no way they can rebound. First of all the general public is the overall decider on the war, sorry to say but the 5000 people that are on these forums will not save HD-DVD even if they all went out and bought a A3 every week with 10 movies every week. Plus, for those of you that keep talking about price with the A3 you need to stop. The A3 only plays 1080I, not 1080P. So for those that buy a HDTV that is 1080P will not be getting the true value of a high def experience that they thought they were paying for. You might as well buy a DVD upconvert player to get the same quality and just buy Standard DVD's. (plus save some money) You get what you pay for. Sure I could buy a hyundai instead of a Honda. But then I would only get standard plush seats when I could pay a little more and get leather seats. Again....remember its not about fooling the public with a "supposed" HD player but actually giving them something that their new HDTV will benefit from. 1 more thing. The reason blu-ray was going to win anyway is they have Disney. Nothing gets to consumers more then when it affects their children. ANY GOOD SALESMAN WILL TELL YOU THAT! True HD-DVD has Shrek the Third but that is 1 frigin movie. It's beter for EVERYONE with one format. The prices will stay favorable. Look at VHS back in the day. It took about a year when they buried Betamax and the players went for like $400 down to $100 and jump ahead.... now you can buy a DVD player for like $15. Its a new age and HD players will go throught the same cycle as VHS. If they want it to survive they will have to keep prices affordable. Now....for those of you that say you wont buy a Blu-Ray player cause your mad? Well you dont deserve to be on this site because you DO NOT like movies. All of this is in MHO.

You are true blu, no one can dispute that but to say an up-converter gives you the same quality as a 1080i HD DUD is completely false. No comparison. Seriously, no comparison.

i don't under stand how DUDers keep mentioning the "it's cheaper" facet... because the consumer does not benefit at all regardless of how much cheaper it is to replicate in the factories... DUD discs are still the same price as Blus... and those combos are more even!

DUDers should die with their format... 30 gigs is enough... enough to choke on and die!!!

i understand completely, but those zombies would probably stick to that and show ''how ignorant are U'' and bla bla bla... never mind, they are just living dead, they'll need a time to understand, let us have mercy to everyone of them except to evil MS...

Yep. I don't have any children but when I chose between the formats last summer I chose Blu based largely on the strength of Disney's backing. As go the kids so go the parents.

If a 1080p set correctly deinterlaces 1080i60 then it will be 1080p24 again.

However with a 1080p player like a Blu-ray player you don't have to worry about that!
