The Three Body Problem was really good.

Awesome find!

I picked this up at a Dollar Tree about two years ago but I just discovered this thread now so that's why I'm posting it now. I was completely shocked to find a signed hardcover, especially a Wayne Gretzky one, at the Dollar Tree.

Holy shit, that's a great find. I saw the book during a book wave last year, or 2020, but it wasn't signed.

Some more boxes of books came in to one of the stores near me. I grabbed these:

The Other Mrs. Miller by Allison M. Dickson -- I've not read this, but have read a lot of her other stuff (novels and short stories) and quite like her work. Sadly, she seems to have disappeared after writing this book (which was her first one that was published by a large publisher).

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier -- Older book that was re-released due to a Netflix movie adaptation. Du Maurier wrote "The Birds" and Jamaica Inn which were made into films by Hitchcock.

A Good Neighborhood by Therese Anne Fowler -- Fowler is the author of Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald which was adapted into a TV series by Amazon.

They actually had two copies, both signed, but the second copy's dust jacket had a huge rip in it so I only grabbed the one copy.

Shoulda bought it and flipped it on eBay or OfferUp. I'm sure you could've made about 30-40 bucks. Maybe more.

I've never even heard of OfferUp and I don't use eBay. I'm not a reseller either. One copy was good enough for me.

Guess OfferUp is only in America. I'm not a reseller either, but if I come across something I know someone will buy, why pass up an opportunity to make a little extra cash?

I just Googled it and apparently it was available in Canada at one point but it no longer is. If it was something I knew I could easily flip, like say a key issue comic book or an out of print movie, then yeah, I guess I could see myself picking it up to flip it. But a signed sports autobiography? I know it's Gretzky and all but I have no idea what the market is for something like that.

He's the most well known hockey athlete in the world. It's kinda sports memorabilia. It's like saying an OOP Criterion blu wouldn't sell in the movie collectors market.

Oh, believe me, I am well aware of who he is. I am Canadian after all. I still have my Wayne Gretzky watch from when I was a kid in the early 80's. I just don't know if the interest would still be there since he's been retired for decades. And to be completely honest with you, I just couldn't be bothered. I did go back a few days later and took a look, just to see, and it was gone.
