![]() Maybe to the blind. Zatoichi got over a 3 on this site, that's a hoot as well. It's one of the flatest, blandest looking HD transfers I've ever seen. Don't even get me started on the Truman Show review. Last edited by JasonR; 01-06-2009 at 12:47 AM. |

I think that if a movie is made in the U.S. that it should be released here. I can understand releasing them in other countries, but they should release it in the country it was made in. I don't think that is taking anything for granted .02

Sweeney Todd is the perfect example. Warner has the rights to release the movie on any home video format abroad. DreamWorks is the studio that has the rights to release it domestically. So even if Warner wanted to release the movie on Blu-ray here in the US they couldn't. This is also why some Blu-ray imports have different transfers then the one's released here. Different studios do things differently. Last edited by GGX; 01-06-2009 at 01:28 AM. |

I know that. By a DIFFERENT STUDIO than the one that released it overseas. Jeez...
That a studio cant release a movie in the US if they don't have a right to do so. Do you expect one studio to tell another studio to release a certain movie in a territory since they don't have the rights themselves? Last edited by GGX; 01-06-2009 at 01:38 AM. |

OK lets take Fight Club for example.
Fight Club was released on Blu-ray in GERMANY by the studio KINOWELT Home Entertainment. They do NOT have the rights to distribute Fight Club in the US. The studio that DOES have the rights to release it here in the US is 20TH CENTURY FOX. They have decided (for whatever reason) that they don't want to release it on Blu-ray at this time. A studio cannot release a movie in another country if they do not have the rights to do so. That is why certain movies are released in other countries before they are released here. And vice-versa.
