Really hope it's the uncut version this time. May only be a small cut but the UK always showed the X cert version and the US PG cut always looks wrong to me. The existing UK and German blus used the cut version so I'm really keen on an uncut release

Since this is a new 4k restoration from the OCN, it might be uncut though there's also good chance all of MGM's film elements were confirmed to the PG version (if other recent releases are to go by). Chato's Land is advertised as PG, despite all recent releases and Kino's 2k scan being of the uncut international version (MGM's elements are most likely confirmed to that version, as the actual PG-rated version last seen on the old R1 DVD was recut from the international version with the covered "Indian Squaw" inserts from a battered source).

is there any info on what was cut for this? or will it just be brief scenes of violence

The UK version has an extra couple of shots including
[Show spoiler]side views of a bullet impact and some blood spatter in the final scene.

This version was shown on television in the 1980's and 1990's in the UK including on Moviedrome.

Just a heads up to anyone who's curious: Received my copy today and as with all other releases of this film, the above mentioned scene was the first one I checked.

Unfortunately, the new Kino Lorber release still features the PG cut. Picture quality is great, though.

I just received the disc, started the film, and the audio is a phasey mess. Tried Dolby surround/prologic, DTS Neural:X and straight stereo but nothing works. It’s just swirling with phase issues. Dialogue moves all over the place etc. I had to turn it off after about 10 minutes. it’s a shame because the transfer looks quite nice and it’s strange the BR.COM review makes no mention of it. I would have hoped I had a bad copy so I could ask for a replacement, but it sounds source-related. Disappointed!

Is this really worth it over the first release from Shout?
