Got the US one today from amazon, no slip but it's the 'Hitman' cover with the crossed guns.

Watched my copy today. It was enjoyable enough. Luke Evans, Cillian Murphy and Helen Mirren were very good as always. I felt Sasha Luss was quite good in the first half or so and perhaps more, but I felt like
[Show spoiler]the scene where she beat up the photographer
was almost ridiculously flat from her. Maybe it was intended that way, as she was good or adequate in other scenes.

Not Bessonís best, but as others have said, you know if you like this genre and if so l, it is a decent entry.

I got the UHD now. I streamed it in HD before. Picture quality was very good. The sound went out of synch for me in the middle 1/3 of the movie. (Dolby Vision sound is always like -150 ms out of synch for me but this went beyond what I could correct for.) The start and end were fine.

I said before I thought the movie was really good. Even seeing it a 2nd time I was surprised again by some of the twists.

I really enjoyed this movie, the color palette was one of my favorite parts. They did a good job of making telling the story in a way where the twists work. Cillian Murphy kills it in this.

Your hate is misplaced, if broadly directed at every person who might have a viable need for mobile technologies as well.

Attacking someone solely because they use digital, would be tantamount to randomly picking a fight with a customer at Blockbuster Video 25 or so years ago just for renting there. I know better than most what Hollywood is after with digital, because I've had professional dealings with almost every major player and closely followed and reported on the industry for many years. But, while it didn't take me long to figure it out after they debuted digital copy at the Blu-ray Festival no less, even I wouldn't have surmised way back when that what was happening with Blockbuster Video would have acted as veritable catalyst leading to Hollywood's current digital agenda.

Attacking someone just for using digital, as if the act alone somehow makes them a conspirator, will only make the person resent and dismiss any argument you may have, even should you bother articulating it in a convincing manner, rather than just taking pointlessly confrontational jabs.

Question for those that have seen these...considering a blind buy...

If I hated Atomic Blonde, but liked Red Sparrow, where does this film fall between the two for those who have seen the three movies?

I think it's closer to Red Sparrow than atomic blonde.

I didn't really pay attention to Atomic Blonde when I watched it, but liked Red Sparrow a lot and liked this too. Probably more because of the Luc Besson style.

That said, I really should rewatch Atomic Blonde sometime since I paid for it.

Ditto, ditto and ditto again. Didn't enjoy Atomica Blonda at all, thought Red Sparrow was excellent and I enjoyed the heck out of Anna. Yes it's Nikita mkII but it's more like the movie that I expected AB to be, if that makes sense. Lots of double/triple/quadruple dealing that you can see coming a mile away, sure, but I find the characters to be so much more engaging in Anna.

There's a lot less action than I thought there'd be but what's there is rather good, like the first assassination and then the breakout from the KGB. I was also thinking to myself as I was watching that even the music sounded like something from the good old days, like Eric Serra with a little bit more of a modern sound, and who do I see in the credits for the music? Eric Serra

I loved Atomic Blonde & Anna. I did not like Red Sparrow. Nonetheless, I think I agree it's closer to Red Sparrow.

I can barely tolerate this but I am...I think it's the subtle ridiculous nature of it.

or it's the cigarette's, malted ale, chocolate and homeade pasta with garlic bread I ate earlier. and this lovely couch. cast is decent but it's over the top KGB CIA hollywood modern movie fest. No long takes or good shots just fast editing action. this is what cinema has come too. Buy it! I won't...for now.

Just wrapped this up. Pretty nice looking disc and probably the best Besson movie I’ve seen in at least 20 years. Granted that’s not saying much, but still, it wasn’t half bad! The supporting cast really helps carry the load. Could have been quite good if the movie ever gave itself a chance to breathe.

Regarding the other movies mentioned in the thread, I didn’t think it was anything like Red Sparrow and not nearly as good. It was more similar to Atomic Blonde but I thought it smoked that movie.

Love him or hate him (or anywhere in between), the fact is that Luc Besson at least sprinkles in a little substance with his style and Anna is no exception. I can't say the same of Atomic Blonde.
