I learned my lesson with Frank Miller's masterpiece "The Dark Knight Returns", and other adapted stories to animated films like "The Killing Joke".

Unless it is an original story skip the animated renditions at all costs. They aren't faithful, they change the source material so much it might as well be a different story.

Never again.

What? DKR and Year One are some of the best animated movies DC has put out in the past 2 decades and very faithful(I re-read both at least once a year). Red Son looks solid with clearly better animation and it seems will stick to the source material, from what we've seen.

Did Superman 2 (Superiorman) in the comics talk, like he does in the trailer? And does Lois mention that sex with Lex is good?

I will agree that the Killing Joke and Hush movies sucked, but Dark Knight Returns was a GREAT adaptation.

DKR was very good. Killing joke not so much. Also Death of Superman (2.0) and Reign of the Supermen where fairly good adaptations as well.

Still hoping we get an adaptation for KnightFall. Have the 3 collected volumes and its a really good story.

Indeed, they were. They're the only movies in the animated New 52 Universe I own.

Let's just hope it doesn't take place in the animated New 52 universe like Hush did.

It can't, its a Elseworlds tale like DKR.

What? No it's not, it's part of the main DC Continuity.

I thought Hush and Death of Superman were pretty good (they did botch Reign of The Supermen though, so points off for that...)

No. Itís definitely an Elseworld story. The whole premise is Superman landing in Russia instead of the US.

Proof is in the premise, Superman lands in Russia as a baby instead of the US. You think thatís the story of Superman for the last 80 years?
