Was this shot digitally or on film?

Asking because this has the IMAX enhanced stamp on it and wondering if any grain / fine details were scrubbed?

Digitally. The UHD looks damn good, no obvious DNR and fine detail is pretty damn good. If anything they probably just left out the layer of artificial grain, if there ever was one.

If a pixel is off can it burn-in? Honest question, yet or no answer. This other user is getting uneven wear because he apparently only watches letterbox movies and never turns off his TV. How is it the TV's fault that a user doesn't use it correctly? Any other user would never encounter this issue because the uneven wear would be taken care of with the built-in compensation cycles that only occur when the TV is turned off. It took rtings.com 5,000 hours of displaying only letterbox content for uniformity issues to arise which are only noticeable on solid test patterns.

And OLED has plenty of flaws such as near-black performance, inability to get as bright as LED displays, and the risk of burn-in.

Lysander91 I've said many times now that only half the movies I watch are letterbox. That's why it's a problem (because I can see the letterbox outline sometimes in the other half).

I don't turn the TV off because 6 months ago the TV menu system started freezing on boot, and it would take 10+ power cycles to get a boot that doesn't freeze. (I did post about this at the time btw. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=1825 )
Pretty sure that's not my fault. I keep it on a pure black screen specifically because that means all the pixels are off so nothing can burn in while I leave it on.

When I said the black bars are burned in, all I meant is that I see a letterbox on certain light content (like orange, red, light brown) because the pixels in the middle of the screen have decreased brightness. As far I know, this actually is a form of burn in, just for the pixels that aren't in the black bar area. That's why it's only showing up in certain colors (so far).

If you think the lack of compensation cycles are an explanation for this, well maybe they are. I think it's coincidence. But regardless I'm still stuck.

This is part of the Confusion, Not every film is made with the "IMAX Ratio" intended or in mind. Zombieland Double Tap is not filmed in IMAX with plans of the "IMAX" Ratio. This has been explained over and over in that thread and this one. Especially the point of IMAX Enhanced: Noise Reduction, DTS:X over Atmos, etc.

I haven't been following the thing all the time to tell you. Except that Not every title under the IMAX Enhanced name will "Open" up to a Matted sequence.

I see you didn't actually answer my question and then set about deflecting the blame anyway

To answer yours: no, if a pixel is off it can't burn in - but that's the point you're missing, that IF THE PIXEL NEXT TO IT IS ALWAYS ON then it's ageing at a different rate and so this sort of retention (of the demarcation between the 'off' and 'on' areas of hard contrast e.g. the edge of the letterbox border itself) could and apparently does occur. Are the circumstances extreme in this case, given that matey never turns his TV off? Of course they are, but I'm not arguing as to who caused it, just that the tech itself is susceptible e.g.

Just finished watching the film. Meh. It had its moments, but overall it didn't draw me in like the first. I guess you could say the feeling I have after watching it is that I'm glad I watched it, but I'm not sure I'd make it through the film if not for my allegiance to the first one.

I have been unable to find this. I went to Wal-Mart and they had zero copies on Saturday. Ran by Best Buy last night and they had none as well.

Same, mine shipped with the IMAX Enhanced sticker right on the cellophane; is the sticker on the slip for those who got one?

Your sentence structure and punctuation could use a lot of work.

Seems like English might not be his first language, given that it says 'Lisbon' under his location. They get a bonus point for the proper usage of an apostrophe though, I dare say he's wielded it better than many native English speakers do these day's (see what I did there? )

Really, really disappointed in this, I loved the first one but this sucked ass and asked for seconds. Master Of Puppets over the intro was about the only thing that didn't suck.

Oh you...

It's forgivable knowing it's not his first language, sure, but extra random spaces, head scratching punctuation!

The inner Grammar Nazi in me is going nuts over here!
