Does this set not come with the digital copies anymore? Both the pictures on amazon and best buy only say "UHD+BD". There are none in stock at my local BB so I can't take a look at it in person.

Curious if one was to get the slipcovers for the individual cases, if they would still fit inside the box?

Has anyone done/tried this?

They will not fit in the box. They barely fit in the box sans slips.

As for codes: For individual releases, I believe you have to find a title that has the slipcover under the official shrink wrap. Best Buy might have a few left but you would likely have to go to the physical store to check. This seems to be the case with many WB titles (Ready Player One, etc.). I am not sure if codes can still be found in the box set.

I ordered a set from walmart, and it came with the box that said "+digital (redeem by 12/31/2018)" but the discs themselves had individual code sheets that had no expiration dates. So I redeemed TDK and TDKR, and since I already had Begins in 4K I'll just trade that with someone.

Off hand, did anyone else think The Dark Knight was incredibly black? I had no problems watching Joker or even Batman Begins, but it just seemed like TDK was so hard to see. It annoyed me to the point that I ordered a copy of Disney WOW to try and calibrate the TV for next time. I watched BB on vudu and TDK on disc, but that shouldn't make a difference. Only other thing that bugged me was the switching aspect ratio but that can't be helped.

I don't remember it being dark, no. All you need to set the black level properly is a color bars image, there's guides out there for which black bar should be what. A lot of Sony discs have color bars on them.

One thing I don't really hear people talk about is how similar Ledger's Joker is to John Ryder from The Hitcher. If I could ask Nolan one question it would be if that film was an influence on him as he was writing the script. The Dark Knight feels like Heat meets The Hitcher.

Just saw some screenshots of this trilogy. Jesus what a travesty. Nolan talks about his love for film, yet this is one of the most digitized looking Masters on UHD with tons of DNR. The original Blu-rays look way better.

Even with the processing the UHD of TDK smashes that shitty Blu. Begins is a different story though.

The thing is Begins is probably my favorite of the three. I have no idea how Nolan could have approved that master.

You and me both, Begins is like my favourite Batman movie period and they just had to do that to it for the UHD. All of those Nolan catalogue UHDs have a certain level of processing but why Begins got singled out for the worst of it is genuinely baffling. The kicker is that when they reuse some footage of Liam Neeson in TDKR it looks much better in that UHD.

I was disappointed by both TDK and BB. BB is the ugliest 4K movie I own and the only one I stopped watching. I keep it on my regular Blu-ray shelf because the Blu-ray looks so much better. TDK was fine in 4K, probably better than the Blu-ray, but still pretty underwhelming. I've come to the conclusion that it's just a crappy looking movie. TDKR was the only one I was happy with.

TDK desperately needs a remastered BD. It's not fair that BB got one but TDK didn't.

I think it'd be a lot cheaper for us all to chip in and get you a UHD set-up.

I already have one, I'm just saying that TDK should have had a new BD since BB got one.

Begins *technically* got a new BD but it was just a fresh encode of the existing HD master, it wasn't using the new 4K transfer. So if they did the same for TDK and re-used the existing master then the BD would still look like smeary DNR'ed over-sharpened shite, just with a higher bitrate.

But how do you actually know that its really Dnr'd?
Just guess work because it looks different from before?
Did Nolan say?

Ummmm no? Trolling much?
Check your settings. The film looks great and there is no DNR to speak of.

35 mm scenes on The Dark Knight looks pretty mediocre, a big letdown in my opinion (because the IP thing and not scanning the negative)
