Shin Godzilla is a real bummer to not have a US release. That's a great movie, and it seeemed like it did quite well here, but alas...no 4k for us. I thought about importing it, but it's too cost prohibitive for me.

Also disappointing that the GitS anime movies never got a 4k release here. I'm a little surprised they didn't.

The biggest surprise was the remake of Death Wish not getting a US release. Although I'm fairy certain this film lost money, you'd think it would still get a release here due to Bruce Willis starring. I've always been under the impression that studios look to the home video market to help movies recover from poor box office performance. This would be a title that I figured might do ok on home video, especially from fans of the originals who would probably watch out of curiosity, if nothing else.

There have been some real head-scratchers as to why they have not seen UHD released, but the studios know more than us common folk.

Does anyone know why titles like Dawn of the Dead, Suspiria and Texas Chainsaw Massacre are considered to be not worth it? Sure, they don't have HDR, but the increased resolution and tightness of the grain, etc. should make it somewhat worthy of an upgrade, but people say that the BDs are better and that the UHDs are worse. I'm wondering how this could occur and if it's the same problem that affects all three films?

Also, you might want to add the Deer Hunter. Even if Uni bring it out in the states, they're likely to botch it if SC haven't already done so.

Dawn of the Dead was either it wasn't the preferable cut on 4K, it had shoddy encoding, or it was both. Suspiria had a different 4K master in the US that's considered by quite a few people to be a better master than the foreign one. I don't know much about the TCM one though.

Thanks for this, HD. I've just recently (beginning of July) made the upgrade to 4K -- our TV crapped out, and since we had to get a new one, it made sense to upgrade.

Earlier tonight, I'd asked in another thread about the UK Early Man release, and it caused me to wonder if there was a list of 4K titles not released in the US. I did some poking around, but figured I probably missed a bunch.

Anyway, I did come across one you don't have listed:

Should both G.I. Joe Separate releases be added to this list? I don't believe they got released in the U.S.

Default UHD releases that have no US release?

Any lists, threads or forum options that list UHD releases that have no US release? Searched and could not find any other thread.

I came across both G.I. Joe films that are available in UHD outside of the US, wondering what other titles are available.

Found another.

Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters (not unrated)

I’m not sure if there’s a thread dedicated exclusively to this but this one does include such titles.
