They'll do fine because that Nolan guy isn't involved. I really don't understand the trepidation that people are experiencing right now.

I wonder what "retail sources" informed Bill Hunt though. Fair do's if he heard about this aaaaages ago but didn't want to say anything, but curiously enough these announcements always seem to follow someone putting up a European pre-order link on here...

Me too - but they have to get it right. No !@#$% around with DNR, doing some cheap-ass scan from some older/weak source, use HDR but get it right, you know.... All that stuff!

Unfortunately I probably wont buy this day 1 since I'll need to rad some reviews to ensure they get it right. Despite what the 4K fanclub says, NOT every UHD release has been that life-changing and some have been outright BAD.

Day 1 for me. If done right this could be a stunner.

This film is one of the reasons I got into 4k. No, it wasn't even rumoured when I bought my 4k gear but if Warners follows its own history with other formats I figured this title would get a relatively early release. And so it appears to be.

I may get a new (bigger) TV just for this! Now if Sony would announce Lawrence of Arabia...

Are capital letters in short supply? Maybe proper caps are only used when the release date is confirmed?

I mean... a lot of the official promo materials had the title in lowercase.

Excited for this. I remember rumblings years ago Warner had major plans for the 50th anniversary. Hopefully that's still true.

Nice. Wonder if we'll get a remastered BD with that.

If this remaster is anything like Blade Runner in terms of quality, this will be a gem!

DAY. ONE. This movie will look gorgeous, considering it was filmed in 65mm.

This is great news, I was hoping that we might see this considering it's the 50th Anniversary.

Should be better than Blade Runner since it was shot in 65mm (and not in 35mm).

I remember back in the Blu-ray days people got upset at revisionist sound mixes. Now there's boycotts any time an old mono film doesn't get an Atmos track.

WTF, people.

it's either if it has an Atmos remix or if it received a HDR pass with UHD folk - goddamn they are a hard nut to crack

Don't screw this up Warner!
I've stopped buying Warner Bros 4K discs because they didn't looked that great to me (especially Suicide Squad and Goodfellas, ugh!) and in some cases looks more washed-out than their regular Blu-ray releases.
This release will give me one more chance with Warner on 4K Blu-ray.
