Hopefully this means The Sopranos Complete Series in 4k isn't too far behind..

Oh and the first season of True Detective, obviously.

The International forums are more meant for the third-party studio releases. Like Concorde, StudioCanal, Constantin Film (Germany), Italy (Eagle Pictures) etc. But the majority is of course dominated by the usual suspects.

This is correct.

In fact, I'm going to raise this issue again, especially because UHDs aren't region locked and almost every 4K announced in Europe eventually gets announced domestically in the USA.

It seems like the best course of action would be to create a thread for an individual release and link every country's release for that title in the OP.

Great news! But damn! This is gonna be an expensive upgrade if they release the other seasons on UHD too.

Surprised breaking bad is not in 4k yet since it has been on Netflix like forever.

I’m fine with blu-ray for these. I imagine they’ll be similar to Westworld’s transfer.

I really want to watch it in UHD, but I'll wait for the complete package of all seasons. It's not too long till the end.

Being my all time favourite show Sopranos would make me very happy.

I’m going to wait and double dip when they are all available.

Y'know HDR is going to allow for some amazing shadow detail to all those penises.

I doubt it because Sony is pretty much killing it on UHD Blu-ray so far. Warner is heavy handed with their filtering and noise reduction.

It will be interesting to see if this gets released in Japan or not. Westworld didn't, although WHV Japan did advertise an Amazon exclusive Blu-ray version as "US版 4Kスチールケース付" (or according to Google, "with US version 4K steel case"), which I'm sure went down like a house on fire with the Japanese.

It’s still finished in 2K. And the GoT BDs do not have filtering or noise reduction.

Also, HBO/Warner releases GoT. Not Sony.

Still only seen one episode of this. Wanted to read the books first because I knew I would never do it if I started watching the show, then stuff happened and I never had the opportunity to catch up, and then it got so far I thought I might as well wait until it's done.

Unsure about the UHD though. HBO BD collections often get disgustingly cheap here for some reason, and I don't have great faith in HDR regrades of digital/DI stuff.

As for the International forums I too keep forgetting they exist so I'm all for either closing them down, or at least moving all major studio releases here. Add a country flag for the release that gets announced first and then remove it once other regions catch up.

Sony? Nuh-uh. These be Warners, as mentioned above.

You don't? There have been some stinkers for sure, but on the 150 or so discs I've viewed so far the HDR grading has usually lent much more warmth, depth and nuance to most DI shows as opposed to the harsher, clipped, more clinical look of the 709 trim pass. A proper photochemical finish will look fine in SDR or HDR but there's something about a DI that often makes it look so flat and dead in SDR.
