It’s an acquired taste. I can’t wait to see my wife’s reaction.

I did not see any DNR. It’s an incredible release.

There’s DNR, but it’s very mild DNR. Pretty much SOP for WB. If you haven’t had a problem with their other catalog titles, you won’t have a problem with 2001.

At this rate with Kubrick releases I might end up getting rid of the Blu-ray boxset.

Have you read the novel by Anthony Burgess? Worth a read if you're into dystopian literature.

Funny that The Shining thread blew up to 17 pages in 4 days, but this is just 3 pages as of now. Just goes to show the ferver surrounding horror movies in general methinks.

Impossible for me to choose which is better but the shining is probably a little more accessible so that makes sense.

This is the same situation I'm in right down to having seen it twice. Honestly, I don't think there's a Kubrick movie I do like. However, his movies are high on the list of the types of movies that are good for the 4k format so I think it's awesome if we can get 2001, The Shining, and A Clockwork Orange all within a year of each other.

My dad loves 2001 so much I bought it just so he could watch it when he visits and can stream it at his leisure in 4k on the new 4k TV I bought him.

In general, I think the 4k format will appeal to older people so I'm all for getting good catalog titles available to us.

Pearls before swine!

Not that I don't love The Shining, but A Clockwork Orange is better.

This is the only one of Kubrik's I don't care for. The rest of them, I really love. If Spartacus gets a UHD release, I'll be on cloud nine for a week. Shining has scared me since I was a kid, but it's still a downright well-made movie. I won't be watching that one in the dark. 2001 I just grew to love more and more over the years. When I got the UHD and watched it, I was flat out mesmerized from beginning to end.

And while we’re talking about the 4K Ultra HD Release List, we’ve also added another title that our retail sources have told us is coming to the format later in 2019: Stanley Kubrick’s A Clockwork Orange from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. We’ll certainly post additional details as we get them.
noice

Can't we just get all the Kubricks in a big box set

Yeah I bought all the original blu ray kubricks, then the nice set came and I felt like a sucker. It'd be nice to not make the same mistake twice.
