Zoom got me with their "Spend over £30 and we'll give you Men in Black: International for just £12.50, wink, wink" deal. The old "Look, you know it's bad, we know it's bad, but let's do this" devil's bargain .

It did actually get a couple of chuckles out of me and there's some seriously nice eye candy on display but yeah, that's about it. I may keep it and give it another watch further down the line ...or I could sell it for £15 right now and make a profit. Not sure yet

Just posted mine for sale. My wife is typically a big Hemsworth fan and Ragnarok is her favorite MCU movie so I thought this would be a no-brainer. But 30 minutes into it we were both pretty miserable so I was forced to accept I had made a gross miscalculation. This just felt like one of those movies that was more the result of a computer algorithm than something made by actual people.

Default Help - UHD Review on this site?

Can someone clarify; the review on this site states:
“…standout performance within its 1080p/SDR parameters. The same cannot be said of this UHD. Make no mistake, it looks quite good and performs exceedingly well, but it's not amongst the best of the best the format has to offer, nor is it a particularly monumental upgrade from the Blu-ray, even if it bests it.”

But finishes with:
“Sony's UHD is very good. A solid 2160p/HDR presentation bests a reference Blu-ray.”

So, is the UHD worth it or not – the review seems to contradict itself - or am I misreading?

I take it to mean that the UHD is better than the BD, but that if the BD represents the very best a BD can look, the UHD doesn’t represent absolute UHD perfection. In other words, if the best a grade-A+ BD can look (on a relative A-F scale against 4K) is a B, then the UHD is a B+.

Watched this yesterday (rental from Cinemaparadiso) and I thought it was good fun! AQ was fantastic, very dynamic and steering very good - SO much better than a lot of modern 4K discs. LFE was also not neutered and extended very low.

Yeah i thought this was really enjoyable and a stunning looking disc. I do wish Sony had put out the 3D version on disc too though.

It's certainly better than part 2.

I agree, but that's not saying much.

I agree that it's not as abominable as the second one but it was still the worst (or at least most boring) movie I saw in 2019. The disc looks and sounds nice, though.
