Then I very well might. FNAC is an amazing company. Haven’t looked at the listing yet—is it the Extended Cut?

The Atmos for this is insane. Probably the most aggressive mix I've ever heard.

It ended perfectly.

i haven't seen the new one yet but i will get that on 4K as well. last Friday night i bought them all on 4K and i've been watching them all week actually and i hadn't seen First Blood in shit at least 15 years or so, shit maybe even more it had been that long as i never got around to buying the dvd of it but i did have parts 2 and 3.

part 2 is my favorite though and always has been & i haven't seen the 4th film in years as i've only seen it maybe 2 times i think? & that was the Theatrical cut too

I apologize if this was answered earlier, but does the 4K blu-ray fix the disparity in color timing between the old footage and the new footage in the extended cut? That really bothered me about the 2010 blu-ray in that you could tell what was added because the color would slightly change.

i watched the extended cut since my last post and it is such a better film than the theatrical cut i think. i didn't much care of the theatrical cut when i first saw it back in the day but it being longer i really loved it

Bought it, and I wished I hadn't.

The accompanying Blu-Ray is the one from 2010 (with the inconsistent color timing) and the digital copy is ONLY for the theatrical cut (despite the cover of the box CLEARLY saying "Extended Cut.")

I swear, I don't understand anything Lionsgate does as far as home video release, particularly with Rambo.

What a great disc. I didn’t go into this expecting much and I only bought it since it was so cheap on Black Friday. But I thought this was one of the best catalog titles this year. That Atmos mix rattled my bones and the PQ was quite nice. I also agree that it’s a perfect end for the franchise. I’ll skip Last Blood.

So the only country that has released Rambo 2008 in 4K is the US? No other country has it in the pipeline or tentatively up for release?

really? i ended up buying last blood in 4K as i have them all in 4K but that's one with a cover i've never seen before, i wish Last Blood had the longer cut on it but maybe they will release that at some point i dunno.

i liked last Blood even if the film was a remake of Taken and Taken i loved. it is the weakest one in the series i think but for what it is i liked it. i was hoping it wasn't as bad as people say it is but i'm glad that it isn't at least for me.

i watched an interview recently on you tube that i saw Sly do about the film and he talks about how Rambo came home and saw that both his parents were dead and the people living there that we saw were one of the Servants and her daughter and i said to myself i do not remember any of that even being in the film at all.

does anyone?

I sold off my U.K. steelbook in anticipation for a U.K. release to be announced shortly after the US. As Last Blood is already out they wonít be able to latch onto the release of the new film.

Probably issues are the 4k was done by Lionsgate, who generally share with Studio Canal for the U.K. 4ks but Sony have it here so I guess thatís where the issue or delay is.

they really should put out the longer cut on 4K it really annoys the hell out of me that they haven't. and why not do it for the other films as well? we know First blood as a ton of footage i wonder how much of it even still does exist?

i might be, i had Originally said something else but i realized it as for a different thread so instead of looking like a huge idiot i changed it. but either way i'm always for it when they put out longer cuts of their films cause sometimes it does actually help the movie and make it much more enjoyable and it makes a hell of a lot more sense.

Usually alternate cuts are considered more of a bonus feature, rather than a big thing to carry forward. Also many times they use lower resolution effects that don't transfer well to the new format.

There are exceptions where the alternate cut is such a big deal it kind of becomes the new main version, like Blade Runner.

or Doctor Sleep of course, but i love them, yeah there's films where the longer cut sucks ass i'm not gonna lie on that one but there's plenty of films where the longer cut actually improves the film.
