Okay Lionsgate. This which bombed gets a 4K release meanwhile Long Shot was excluded from getting one.

Makes sense.

Makes more sense for an action thriller to get a 4K release than a comedy.

Yessss, I never thought this would get a 4K but I’m so glad it will! Definitely blind-buying day one. I’ve loved what Besson has been doing lately.

Excited to at least check this out. I will rent first but will definitely prioritize it. Luc Besson, when on his game, is hard to top for fun action/thriller flicks.

By that logic then all comedies should be excluded from a 4K release even when they are financially successful.

I would not call it that much of a financial success. It made $46.5 million on a $40 million budget. If that does not include marketing costs, then the film lost money (granted not as much as Anna though which made $15 million on a $30 million budget).

Also most people buying comedies on home video are content to buy it on blu-ray and DVD while the people buying action movies tend to buy it on the better formats. There is a reason why a lot of comedy movies do not get 4K releases. The market is not there. I want as much stuff as possible on 4K but I know this is not realistic (heck some movies are still only getting DVD releases).

I saw Anna in theatres (besides the technology not fitting with the time period I really enjoyed it) and was hoping it would get a 4K release. Even I did not think that it would get a 4K release, but I guess action movies are an easier sell on 4K.

Blind buying this as long as the price is decent. It should be fun and his movies usually have great AV quality.

I saw it at the theater, and to me it was vastly better than Red Sparrow
