I loved Red Sparrow. If it's anywhere near as good I'll gladly do day one purchase.

Preorder was removed for now. No preorder up for regular blu-ray either so possibly just postponed.

I ended up seeing it, and it's pretty watchable. Sasha Luss is probably as convincing as possible (though scenes like the one in the restaurant in the trailers, where she takes on men 2-3 times her size, stretch suspension of disbelief) although I must confess that while she is pretty, I don't get what all the fuss is about. I only watched it for Helen Mirren, who does a fine job with a bit of a shaky part, even if she is unfortunately made up to look less attractive in a film where most of the other women are young models. Luke Evans and Cillian Murphy also do well, even if the latter, especially, has a character arc that is pretty unbelievable.

It's not as raw as Lucy and it's missing an actor of Johansson's caliber in the role, but if you enjoy Eurotrash spy movies where the actors are doing their best despite a questionable script, then it's worth a watch. I'm probably going to pick up a release to support 4K and also for overly-bookish Dame Helen.

They are as good as come. I have been ordering from them for over 2 years and never had a problem. New releases generally come Saturday before release and prices are better than most.

Goes to show you once more that Lionsgate don't mind putting out even box office bombs on 4K Blu-ray.

I think they pretty much knew it wouldn't be a box office success. Nowdays it takes tens if not hundreds of millions of $ in marketing campaigns to make people go and see a movie in the cinema.

Vastly better you say?

Did Anna strip in front of the class too? JLaw was fierce in her scene.

Hence why they might be waiting to give Midsommar's director's cut a 4K UHD months from now.
