If you buy this uhhh....two episodes, then yes. A UHD series will be released later. Otherwise no.

So why does all the press stuff state that they did NEW 4K TRANSFERS then? They may well have scanned the show in 4K for the prior remaster - pretty much anything and everything that gets a new scan these days is hitting a 3K sensor at the minimum - but I call bullshit on them actually finishing it out to 4K.

Anyhoo, it looks like an incredibly awesome set but for me to buy it yet again it's gotta be on UHD, all of it. Someone just mentioned the TNG sampler and yeah, I get the feeling that this is very much in that sort of vein which isn't a coincidence seeing as that was also from CBS. These are different circumstances perhaps as we've got no idea if CBS are planning to do the whole thing in 4K whereas TNG's sampler was a taste of work that was already well underway, also it'd be pretty goddamned cynical to get people to shell out for this new box set then ask them to go to the well yet again for the UHD. So maybe this is it for TP in UHD?

Yep.

Perhaps I should have been less ambiguous in that statement.

I wonder how long it will take to sell out. I was going to say "25,000 will take forever" but the Batman TAS limited set had 30,000 and then they made over twice as much because everyone wanted it.

It's weird that FWWM doesn't have a UHD disc included. Oh well. Might get this, but I'll hold out in hopes we get a 4K release of everything.

The regular blu of The Return looks amazing on my 4K set up, can’t wait to see how the 4K would look, by the way...got a light?

If I had to guess, they are probably using the sales of this set to determine whether a 4k set is something they want to do.

TWIN PEAKS: FROM Z TO A. Limited to only 25,000 copies, the collection will hit shelves in the U.S. and Canada on December 10 (with international release dates to be announced at a later date).

I'll likely get one of the international sets, if it's cheaper.

For those complaining about the whole series not being on 4K, do you think there's a big enough market for it? How many 4K sets do you think would sell?

I bet people who don't have a 4K player will sell off the bonus disc on eBay. So, if you don't want to repurchase the whole set, you should be able to find the 4K disc separately.

Yeah but then that doesn't give the studios a true idea of who's buying it for the 4K disc as they're not seeing that second-hand revenue.

I predict that this 4k disc will be repackaged and offered on it's own at some point.

Doesn't really matter as TV on UHD will never be a widespread thing. Sadly, TV on Blu-Ray is barely a thing anymore.

Great that some of it's coming out on 4K, but since I've already got the series on Blu-ray, it's not for me. If a full 4K set comes out eventually, that's fantastic.

Until then, I'd absolutely buy just the pilot episode if it got an individual release. It's a stunning piece of TV history.

Q: I have the FWWM criterion bluray—will it be the same exact transfer on the Z to A set? Wondering if all I need is the complete television set instead.

Also, if it’s limited and you pre-order from amazon what if the pre-orders reach the limited number they’re making does it guarantee you the box set?
