Also saw it tonight with my little one.

Genuinely surprised this had a more divisive critic reaction. I think it's better than the first film, to be honest.

The art direction and animation is much, MUCH more impressive in this one--with a better, more mature soundtrack to boot (with the exception of that god awful Christoph song).

Zavvi's Collector's Edition steelbook. I suppose the actual steelbook inside will have the same artwork as Best Buy's.

Strange that that BD included in the Best Buy steelbook appears to have artwork on the disc, but the one included in the Target exclusive only has the standard blue color.

It has always been that way. Only Best Buy gets the disc art. I believe it's like that since Incredibles 2.

Haven't seen II but upon rewatching the first one I was surprised at how bland the art direction and animation were, yep.

I agree.
Tangled, which was released three years before, looks better.

Apparently they near-completely remade the movie shortly before release to change Elsa from being the main big bad after Let It Go turned out so good. The movie turned out fine for being a rush job.

Slight difference in back art, but it does match

No. If it's coming out in March it will be 2020. I'm not sure where you came up with those dates.

No, Bang and Blame is the best song. Or perhaps Strange Currencies. Oh wait...

They meant is it B&TB 1991 animated or B&TB 2017 live action.

The second film is a huge improvement in all areas of animation and art direction.

The water effects are really dynamic in this film.

Yeah, it's clear just from the trailer that the new one is going to blow the original out of the water, at least in terms of the art and technical elements. The original is easily the least appealing of all the modern Disney animated movies. Looking forward to seeing this with the family on Thanksgiving morning.

Saw it tonight and it was really, really good.

The songs were all pretty great (also think the Olaf one was the worst, though).

It should look stunning in 4K, especially the sequences to Into the Unknown and Show Yourself.

And seeing that I am a Christophe Beck fan and after Buffy he didn't score the best stuff, I am happy he is the composer.
I actually liked his score better than the first movie.

The first one was a total mess they had to remake before they released and this is what, 2 points below on Metacritic last I looked?

Hardly a critical bomb

Anybody see this in IMAX? Will be seeing it Saturday night. My theater recently renovated their IMAX theater so now it supports laser projection. Excited to check both the new theater and film out!
