Doubtful because the 3D Blu-Ray was only the Theatrical Edition and the same is true for Disney+. Disney seems to be against extended editions now.

I was expecting this to happen. I'm happy cause it's actually my favorite Disney animated movie and will day 1 the steelbook.

I suspect Mulan and Hunchback of Notre Dame will get a 4K blu-ray when their live action films come out on blu-ray themselves. But I was wrong about Sleeping Beauty getting a 4K transfer when Maleficent Mistress of Evil came to theaters.

If Disney continue with the batches releases, I'm guessing they won't wait that long for Hunchback. Probably the remaining five Renaissance films might be released with Mulan. Just a guess though.

I definitely think the rest of the 90s films will be released in a batch. I hope they include Lilo & Stitch the way the wave of Revival films on 4K featured TPATF.

I'm thinking if they do that there will be 3 waves of five:
Wave 1: Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan and Tarzan.
Wave 2: Dinosaur, The Emperor's New Groove, Atlantis, Lilo & Stitch and Treasure Planet.
Wave 3: Brother Bear, Home on the Range, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons and Bolt.

I await learning whether or not Disney will remove the direct-to-video sequels from the 1080p discs.

My guess is not. Disney won't bother with those discs, they'll just reissue them as they are.

Anybody know if any of these titles will ever be re-released on physical media/signature collection?
The Fox and The Hound
Robin Hood (1973)
Oliver and Company
The Aristocats

If we get junk like Brother Bear or Home on the Range on 4K disc then we are really in the golden age of 4K physical media.

I of course hope I'm wrong with my pessimissim- I want all the Disney's out on 4K!

Pocahontas and Mulan have sequel-less versions that were released on Disney Movie Club so there is precedence for that sort of thing. Them removing the sequels from the discs and using them as Disney+ fodder (Or standalone DMC exclusive releases like they've been doing) does sound like a viable option for them.

Pretty much 100% they won't be Signature since those seems reserved only for those usual 13 (or 14 or 16) titles that have always been in rotation.

Re-releases I'd bet on at some point even if just to add a new cover. Fox/Hound already has 5 or 6 variations so why not another.

Those are not rereleases, those are reissues and these films are not OOP. You can still get them.

I was hoping they would get the Best Buy steelbook/ Target digibook treatment like 100 Dalmatians just did. I just don’t want to buy them now and then a newer edition comes out in a year or two.

If the cover make my jaw drop I'll consider it. But otherwise I don't know if I want to double dip this time around. Even though I love this movie so much I think I memorized it by now. But I think I might pass.

[Show spoiler]Besides the Jean Cocteau version is better IMO

I'm really excited to find out what the covers are. If they are going to just use reused art then I'm hoping they'll just use the VHS/Platinum Edition art. I hope it won't be like the horrendous covers they used for the Revival films (most likely it won't).

This is my favorite Disney film! But I also love it in 3D so much I would normally watch it in that, not 4K.

A little off topic but if you are a fan of the '90s style animation you should check out Klaus on Netflix. It was made by Sergio Pablos who worked on Disney’s “Tarzan” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” and looks amazing. A very good Santa origin movie that came out in November and has been rumored that it could land an Oscar nomination for the film's innovative 2D and anti-hate message. I, too, will be buying Beauty when it comes out.

I have that same thought only with the laserdisc and not the 3D.
