If it's like the old Re-Animator movies, I'm game. I love HP Lovecraft books and I'm okay with people doing their own creative takes on the source material. Not everything needs to be 100% by the book.

No reason why Shout, Criterion and many other labels can't put out UHDs now that this and Tammy and the T-Rex are on 4k

Watched this last night and loved it. Imo, it’s Stanley’s tightest and most complete feature. Stetson’s score is fantastic, too. Can’t wait for the UHD!

Is there any hope this will have HDR? akaik the only previous RLJ uhd discs were Mayhem and Brawl in Cell Block 99, neither of which included HDR. Those were from two years ago so maybe the label has come around since then. The release announcement doesn't mention anything so not sure.

They've done a couple of others since then. Their last two (Galveston and Arizona) have HDR according to the entries on this site.

Thanks. I'd forgotten they did Galveston which definitely has HDR.

If Madman are the distributors, I wouldn't be so sure. Madman has a bad habit of doing DVD only for a lot of their releases that really should get a BD release (eg. The Hummingbird Project, The Killing of a Sacred Deer).

Umbrella released it theatrically so I'm assuming they're doing physical as well. Which gives us probably less chance than with Madman, or if they do it'll be an absolute bare-bones disc 3 months after the fact

I love the first one! The second one makes me think of a Loveraftian porn because of the cosmic butthole.
