Insufferable? WOW

Great as in the image and logo together are an iconic poster and it’s what everyone remembers. Whether that new artwork is official or not it looks like a fast and furious cover art template

Not official, just something I threw together:

Different and simple. Reminds me of the Heat re-release.

Here's a more traditional one, but I had to blow-up the screenshot so it looks kinda gross:

Guilty pleasure movie.. But I own the Blu-Ray already so unless this thing is super cheap or a huge leap in PQ/AQ I will likely pass.

One of Tom Cruise worst movies. How could do many talented people make such a bland movie?

I just love this iconic poster art! And the cover itself: simple yet so beautiful and powerful!

I just dont know why studios bother with bad photoshop jobs if they can just use the traditional (and IMO always better) poster art.

Robert, if you don't mind me asking, could you make a version without the top banner, so just it could feature a slightly bigger artwork (or less crop on the top)?

Congratulations on your great work!

The short answer is yes, I can make a front without the banner, however, the version you see here is barely cropped at the top. I can zoom the image to make Tom's face a bit larger. When the cover gets finished, I'll post two versions.

I appreciate your comments as this recomposition was a b!tch to make. Maybe the most difficult one I've done (I don't use Photoshop). That is a combination of three different posters, all with different color balance. Fortunately, I did keep a textless image so changing it around won't be nearly as difficult.

Robert,

thank you so much for the prompt reply.

If I can make some more suggestions, since there's no more image to 'uncrop', you could lower the title and include the 'A DON SIMPSON / JERRY BRUCKHEIMER PRODUCTION' above the title like in the orginal poster art (Oh, this credit brings me so many great memories, I was always so eagger to their next project).

Also, if you could include the tagline like in the poster art, it would make it even more awesome and true to the original artwork.

Personally I always like to have the original tagline and no critics quote (contrary to what the retail covers usually do)

I liked how the BD looked, it was a small film for them on disc so it was left alone.
I hope they don't pull a greasy gump.

Yeah I watched the BD and it was much better than what I expected. I agree, leave things alone. No Gump or Pet Sem.

The last time I watched this was via the Vudu stream and I thought it looked better than the BD. I remember wondering if they snuck a new master on there.

Would not take much. The HD transfer on the Blu-ray is truly primordial.

Not even higher bit rate can save the disc. You can probably thank Top Gun Maverick for getting Days Of Thunder on UHD Blu-ray. I wasn't expecting Paramount to go near it.

What was that audio mix they had on the Laser Disc again? One those weird tecs if I recall correctly.
