Was browsing on Sanity and came across Avatar, which they have listed for Bluray and DVD for Sunday, June 20. Untitled Page

Don't know what to think of this. June sounds about right but the Sunday release kinda threw me. Although from what I've seen in the past their dates are always accurate. Maybe this is a worldwide release?

Any news on whether Australia will be getting this in April as Cameron has said? I have noticed ezydvd has it as coming soon and has the audio as dtshdma which hopefully means we will. .

^ Well Sanity has taken it down now from the June 20 date they had. Still up for preorder though. So I wouldn't be surprised if we do get it in April now.

Just looking at the JB site and they have it down for the 27-05-2010 don't if this true or not you can pre-order.

There's already a thread for avatar here, I think you will find we shall have a release at the same time as America (April 22nd). Cheers for the info though, whenever it is released it can't come soon enough.

I thought I might add my local video store has it advertised with the march and april releases, though it didn't specify a date.

I work at Video Ezy and can confirm that Avatar comes out in late April.

JB now has it up for pre-order, but they are still running with the May 27 date.

The movie was released worldwide so there is no reason for the delay in Australia. Would say late April. Its a Fox release so no doubt it's DTS-MA 5.1

As long as it is lossless and has reference PQ all is good.

Looks like April 29 might be the day for us Aussies. Sanity, Gamehead and EzyDVD have all just listed it for that date (JB still has it up for May 27 though).

It may sound bad getting it a week late (officially), but it really means it wil only be a day opr two later then the us (as our blus and dvd's always hit store shelves before release date). (For example I got both Angels and Demons and Terminator Salvation and Star Trek 2009 around 7 days before street date).
