Default Can tiny Blu Ray players do surround sound?

So yesterday I was in an electronics store and noticed there were some really small Blu Ray players, mainly by Sony. Do these little players support surround sound? At the moment I just want a small player to pair with a little bedroom TV to watch in bed when I move out of home; but I also would like to eventually upgrade to surround without having to purchase a new player.

Assuming the receiver you buy has HDMI inputs and output, then yes.

I would think the only downside to a tiny player would be overheating issues. Smaller components = tight spaces = reduced airflow.

There is a lot of empty space in Blu-Ray players. I have a Sony 6500 which is pretty small. It was fine, did all the stuff a full sized one does.
