Paramount should create some horror film specialty division for home video releases. Much like Shout's "Scream Factory." Their first order of business should be to pump out the remaining "Friday the 13th" titles on blu-ray along with "The Keep", "Fire in the Sky", "Hellraiser III: Unrated", "The Dead Zone", "Silver Bullet" and whatever else cult classics. The next order of business then should be to re-acquire the rights to distribution for all their Full Moon titles and release them properly.

I've heard too many horror stories about Full Moon's blu-ray releases, the #1 reason why I refuse to spend a dime on these Puppet Master titles. Although I do own one Full Moon title on blu-ray, "Subspecies", I've only watched it once and I'm almost afraid to put it in again for fear the disc went bad or something and I'll lose my cool.

Then get the UK versions, they are as good as it gets. I don't see Paramount putting more care into them than 88 Films, and with them, no disc rot. They are even doing one for Subspecies. The transfer will get a better encode and the sound will be lossless.

I caved and bought this from Full Moon Direct.

I love parts II and III and I have absolutely NO desire to own any other films in this series, so this was the perfect set for me.

Hopefully any ROT issues have since been corrected ... I'll be sure to wade through my set (the copy of Puppet Master I, that is) and report back.

Then again Warner did just buy out a chunk of Paramount's catalog, but it's still a huge stretch, I know.

Were there screenshot comparisons between the UK and the US Puppet Master? I thought I remember seeing those before.

Well, just broke down and ordered the Puppet Master blu-ray collection vol. 1. I hope I don't have to face any disc rot issues down the line. My Killjoy dvd set had that issue big time, but other than that all my other FullMoon stuff has been unaffected. I'm still hanging on to my Echo Bridge dvds though, I never thought I'd be opting for Echo Bridge. Yikes.

To be honest it's just a bit better. It's a better encode so the fine detail and colors seem to pop a little more. The best part is that unlike the US discs they have lossless sound plus an extra commentary track.

YES!

Puppet Master 2 and 3 just shipped from Amazon UK as well. When I ordered Puppet Master 1 from them it took 9 days, hope it's a little quicker this time.

Its a theory, but the US set has 'Volume One' on the top... Does this mean a 4-6 and 7-9 set may be coming? And then 'Puppet Master X' will be individual?

Well of course they will all come eventually. This is Full Moon's greatest selling franchise.

For those interested, it looks like on Oct 26th Fullmoon will have parts 1-3 in a box set for $20. The site states that box sets will be 50% off and the regular price is 39.99

Thanks, the US disc can be had for super cheap, but if the UK version is an overall better presentation then Im all for it
