Adding external subtitles to 3D Blu-ray playback

Well, no one was giving any info on the performance or look of external subtitles on any players for me to make an informed decision.

The font, I don't mind at all. The blue background is a shame, but as I'll be watching so few movies like this, this is just how it is I guess.

I've only watched the first half hour of Black Widow, which is light on foreign dialogue anyway, and the 3D layer seemed fine, even if basic.
It's at the level of the screen, with most of the movie moving back beyond the screen, so is in front of that.
Will this conflict with pop-outs? Maybe, but I haven't seen any subtitles over those effects.

Usually I'll put them below the frame anyway.
Black Widow has iMax scenes, Shang-Chi does not. The Eternals I think is still unconfirmed.

Yeah the 3d just an issue more on imax and full frame where you can't put the subs in the black bar. It can be a bit headache inducing. I think the panasonic, I tried the external subs once and got about three minutes in and had enough...

I just have done a few foreign language ones it does effect.

The first is their default position. The 2nd is how I always make them as low as possible, outside the frame where applicable.

Contact the team that made that custom firmware if they can do any update so you don't have that blue box on subtitles.
