Got my UK Sicario it has the Atmos track, know it was in the last already but with the DTS X confusion thought it was worth conformation

From the press release,

The Blu-ray discs of “In the Heart of the Sea” will feature a Dolby Atmos® soundtrack remixed specifically for the home theater environment to place and move audio anywhere in the room, including overhead.
I sat in my usual seat in my favourite Atmos theater - and I guess it was the volume, but that mix was an utter mess ... and loud ... could barely hear the overhead sound cues.

I am just glad to see Warner including it, after not bothering to do so with "The 33".

Those JP premium sets is amazing but so expensive. Each have 3-5 discs. Guess the hopefully forthcoming premium boxset will be like 15 discs or more

I doubt there will ever be a "Premium" box set. The one that is coming on April 13th will include the first bonus BD from the latest film, and that's it.

But yes, a true collection of all the content from all four film releases in Japan would encompass eleven discs: Two for the first film, and three each for each of the sequels.

I've been attending Atmos shows regularly since Aug 2015. I've even gone to such lengths as seeing the same movie twice in 2 different Atmos theaters... what I've observed is that you will hear 2 completely different experiences from theater to theater. & then even when you find a theater you like, the sound can have variables as well.

One major issue is the premium theater seating isn't conducive to the ideal Atmos experience... like... I've never been to a premium setting (AMC Prime or ICON) where the rear speakers can be heard.

I think another issue is the standards set by content creators for what will be heard when you get to the theater... like when I saw Interstellar @ IMAX is was insanely loud... but then when I saw Star Wars @ IMAX it was waaaay too quiet.

I did see the whale movie @ the ICON theater... I thought the overhead sound was fantastic when it was happening, but over all the mix was subtle.
Any scene where they were below deck hearing the creaking sounds overhead / splashes was amazing, so it's possible the sound just wasn't good that night at your theater.

granted that the screening of 'In the Heart of the Sea' was supposed to have been in 3D, but switched over to 2D at the very last minute, maybe the sound also got out of whack - cause I've never heard an Atmos mix here that wasn't top notch.

heard 'Interstellar' (15/70 IMAX print) no problems with the volume, the soundmix though was annoying. 'The Force Awakens' (IMAX-Laser 12-channel sound) was so loud I thought my nose was going to bleed.

The Atmos mix for "In the Heart of the Sea" did overuse some object patterns such as whales moving through the room from back (or side) to the screen which got distracting towards the end of the film. With 3D that would have been appropriate.

Plus there was the midway disappearing reverb within the room the story was being told and other such artifacts that made the mix slightly distracting.

Just watched Lucy and I was just blown away. The use of the Atmos technology in a 360° field was so prolific along with so many instances of being submerged that this became one of my best demo discs for Atmos. You won't be disappointed. The bass was just so plentiful as well.

And that's where this list is about, regular Blu-ray titles. I bet those are just the older discs.

Haha ok boss! That's a nice surprise, Sony keeps delivering And I can understand why most of these didn't get re-released on blu-ray like the big ones.
