Someone recently discovered a 35mm print of the directors cut and Davis/Panzer got it scanned and restored. Should be a real nice upgrade to the VHS transfer that made the rounds on some DVD releases.

Hopefully Davis Panzer did a REAL new scan of the theatrical cut and aren't giving Imprint that DNR'd hot mess.

I don't like that they priced this twice as much simply because there are two discs. I haven't seen this practice before but I surely won't shell out that much. I ordered four other titles though.

Oh nice! I was just looking at getting more Peckinpah films on BD and the only option for Osterman Weekend was some long OOP, expensive Anchor Bay release with reportedly shitty PQ.

Any chance some other company will release it on the northern hemisphere?

For those interested, I just placed a pre-order with JB Hi-Fi for $29.98 (plus delivery - click and collect not available). Seems to be a pricing error, but hopeful they will honour it...

I jumped on that the other day too. And if it turns out to be incorrect, I think they are obliged to still honour it. It's good business to do so. They've taken my moolah now anyway, so...

If they're anything like their sub company, Good Guys, they might cancel it but if they do you usually get a gift card to make up for it.

Just checked the "my purchases" section on their site and it's still there, marked as "processing"... Fingers crossed.

This has been removed from JB's site by the looks of it.

Osterman Weekend is back on sale at JB Hi-Fi. Sadly the 10% off coupon is expired. Still placed an order for $69.99 (!!!) because I don't want to miss this.

So Imprint has done a showreel of their March releases, and the clips of The Osterman Weekend on it look a bit… concerning.

That’s exactly what the old US release looked like. It was one of the worst blu-rays ever! I would say Imprint are just using that version for promotional purposes...at least I hope so!
I had it and sold it off on ebay as soon as I heard about this new release. And guess who bought it...someone from Viavision.

Yep they’re definitely using it…

Just like how they recently bought my boxset of Packed to the Rafters and are now re-releasing that series using the same disc masters…

Have you considered emailing ViaVision to ask what transfer they're using?

I doubt they're using it, why would they say new 2k masters?

Because the Australia forum of this site loves to assume the absolute worst about every local release.

Is it really assuming when they put out a video showing footage from the release?
