DLS-4000R

Absolutely Love it. For low end, I always test using a Soul Coughing CD as their bassist used an upright, which provides tremendous thump. Gives a great idea of how the sub will handle normal low end.

The EQ functions are fantastic, I've found that the Jazz setting is the best for music (IMO, of course). I typically leave that on for movies, but if the low end is lacking, I switch it over.

I haven't found anything that is beyond what this sub can do (yet) during movies or music. It may not blow the house down like other subs, but it can rattle with the best.

I recently posted a thread on "which subwoofer should I choose" I was down to 2 that I was torn between, Velodyne DLS 5000R or Klipsch Ref series 12in, well I went with the Velodyne but the seller contacted me yesterday to tell me that the model DLS 5000R was no longer available,so he offered me the newer series for $100 more DEQ-15R,(750 watts RMS, 1500 watts Peak) I think it was a pretty good deal,do any of you have this model or have any comments on it?

I haven't heard this model, but it's a step up from the DLS line, so that sounds like a great deal. it's $150 cheaper than I can find anywhere on the net.

Have the DSP-10 in my HT... Very respectable sub, have not had any issues with it so far, looking to move on up to the DEQ-15R... I have given it a listen and it sounded so clean.

I also have the DPS-10. Do you leave it on the Movie setting? Also, what do you set the low pass dial at in the back of the sub?

I do leave it on the "Movie" setting for most applications, sometimes for music I do enjoy the "Jazz" setting... When I go home I'll check the low-pass dial to see where it sits.

DLS-4000R here. Very tight and responsive with zero distortion. Perfect for movies and music.

When i put mine on direct i get a lot of noise from the sub so i oppted for the 80 settings. To add to the topic the dps 10 is a very good subwoofer i'm thinking about getting another one or i might get the dps 12.

In both the receiver and the actual "blinking light" control on the sub, where do you keep the volume of your DPS-10 at? Right now the receiversetting is at 0db (goes from -12/+12), but the blinking light is hard to gauge. I love the sub, but really hate the method of volume control.

Default Superb Velodyne Customer Service!

I purchased a Velo SPL-1200R a few months back & absolutely loved it's performance in both HT & 2 channel music. I loved it so much...I had to buy another one to keep it company. The new one arrived & it just didn't perform as it's identical twin. Sound wise they were exact, but the new sub seemed to have a problem turning itself on. It just wasn't detecting the signal nearly as quickly as it's twin. Long story short, I called Velo & talked to Curt, he had me try a few things first, which didn't correct the problem.

I had to send the amp back for repair...very fast turn around time to boot. They said they couldn't pin point the problem so they just sent me out a brand new amp. I wasn't expecting that at all. To some that might not seem like a big deal but having experience with other audio manuf., this was "Great" CS. Kudos to Velo. It's working like a charm. Oh, and did I mention that running dual subs is audio estacy!!

I'm surprised that your main speakers don't reach down to 36Hz, actually.

I currently have three Velo's in my possession my main viewing area has a DD-18 my basement area utilizes a SPL-1000R and my bedroom employs a miniVee. All of which produce amazing bass especially the big daddy DD-18.....
