Having never seen the dc before. I thought the disclaimer at the start of the film from Sam and his editor saying this is the only version they put there name too. Very interesting they must have known the producers were going to recut it at that point when Sam was striking his own personal print of the directors cut.

Sam finally learned his lesson. Too bad other filmmakers didn't do this too.
Anyone out there who has a copy, have you got some caps of the DC?
Is the Theatrical Cut a port of the US Anchor Bay release?
(Every time I look at the screenshots of the review, I feel physically sick... The PQ, and the coloring, is really that awful).
What does the alternative unrestored presentation of the film in 1.66:1 aspect ratio, scanned from a 35mm German print look like?
Edit: All good. Found the answers on the movie thread. Posted the best post of information here (TC is the Anchor Bay port, but the German print looks pretty, pretty, pretty good).

Orbit DVD have the new Imprint release in stock for $54.99 right now. I ordered one along with Marooned.
Pricey, yes, but I'm not letting this one slip through my fingers...

I received it yesterday. I've only browsed through the discs thus far, and have yet to watch them 100%, but...
The Theatrical cut on the 1st disc looks like the same 1.78:1 DNR'ed version that the Anchor Bay Blu-ray used, and has the same troublesome color grading. It's definitely not any new scan or restoration.
The "1.66:1 Unrestored Alternative Feature Version" on the 1st disc seems to probably be the same cut, but it comes sourced from a 35mm German print. The colors look more like the old Anchor Bay DiviMax DVD transfer...at least by memory. It's definitely no pristine HD presentation of it, but no obvious DNR has not been applied to it.
The "Director's Cut" on the 2nd disc is the full 107 minute cut, and is sourced from Peckinpah's own 35mm directors cut negative. It has a different aspect ratio, closer to 1.56:1 (it states 1.60:1 though). It also isn't pristine, but probably about the best it's ever going to look without a full restoration...and there appears to be no obvious DNR on it either.
There are new bonus features regarding the scan/transfer and the differences between the different cuts...which I'm sure offer far more info.
Here are BDInfo scans + Bitrate charts for the 3 cuts on both discs:

My copy arrived on Saturday from Deep Discount. Rather impressed by their shipping speed.
It's looking like this edition might be exclusive to Imprint judging by some of the comments I've read (mostly on the OW dedicated thread in the North America section), which is why I bit the bullet and purchased it. Can't say I'm a big fan of the film but I am a fan of film versions that have been rescued from obscurity and reappraised so I think the investment here is worth it. It's also a beautifully designed set that probably won't be topped by another label.
I got mine yesterday from DD. The box is pretty sweet. I'm talking about Vinegar Syndrome-quality cardboard here. Very sturdy! The top of the box comes off, to reveal the 2 HD keep cases of each version of the film. Very impressed with the package!
The DNR'd theatrical cut (which was sourced from a US IP) should still have the Fox logo as the AB BD did. I'm curious about what opened the 1.66 alt theatrical cut, as that was said to be a German dubbed 35mm print (with English titles?) and Fox only had US distribution rights.
