Im replacing my 19inch Wharfedale LCD TV with a bigger and hopefully better TV but im struggling with what to choose.
![]() Its either a Sony bravia 32-37 inch With only 1080i but around £450-550 / Samsung 37 inch 1080P for around £650-700. I use my tv for playing, watching blu-ray on PS3 (HDMI) and connect my virgin media box through scart. I don't know if I should save a few pounds and get a Top notch sony but not with full HD or go all the way and get a full hd Samsung. Is there that much difference between I and P to pay that much more? Would appreciate the help. Thanks ![]() |

I'd rather have 720p than 1080i ...
So, without a doubt, get 1080p ! |

you should of kept your money and bought the 1080i tv...you aren't going to even see the 1080p part of it cause you won't be sitting close enough...

how is buying a 37" 1080p the way to go??? It would be pointless to buy 1080p for a 37" tv...the OP would have to be sitting no farther then 6ft away from the tv to make 1080p worth it and I doubt he is going to be sitting that close...if he is 1080p is good for him...

The Samsung has arrived. just waiting to re-arrange my room around so i can get it set up. I will be pretty close to it due to this tv being in my bedroom, and my bedroom is pretty tiny 2bh. I'll let you know my opinion on the TV soon.

Got the TV up and running. The HD Pic is nice on ps3.got to try and improve it though using the settings-thats going to be hard there's so many.
Still hate the moving dots like thing with some images. |

Man advertising sure does work...it is brainwashing everyone to think anytime a tv is in 1080p it is going to be a better looking then a 1080i tv...some cases it is but any tv under 42" it isn't any better then 1080i...

So you are saying interlaced looks as good as progressive in most cases?

In this case I am saying he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the "i" and "p"...it is to small a tv and I'm guessing he isn't sitting close enough...like I said any tv under 42" in most cases, 1080i would look just as good as 1080p...and those cases are if they are using it as a computer monitor as well...
