Hey Shultz... Don't know if you want to try this but Curt at velodyne says for DPS and DLS models.

VOLUME Control This control allows you to balance the output from the subwoofer to the main speakers in your system. This control should be set to achieve similar volume level from between both the main speakers and subwoofer. When pressing volume up or down, the speed at which the power light blinks indicates subwoofer volume - the faster the blinking, the louder the unit plays. After the volume is changed (up or down), there will also be two sets of center LED blinks. Slower blinks represent tens and faster blinks represent ones. If the LED blinks three times, pauses, then blinks six times, this means that the volume is set at 36. The volume range is from 1 to 99. I am so ![]() |

Hey guys, I have a velodyne sub, one of the Impact-10's. It's a nice little sub but doesn't go much lower than my mains. Anyway, that's not the point. It says in the manual to always use a splitter and connect to both the left and right input from the receiver's sub out so it doesn't shut down from lack of signal (auto off/on is only option). I do that now, but I was wondering if it wouldn't be better to use just the left input alone? I ask this because I have read in other posts that using the left input alone bypasses the crossover. I have mine set to the highest crossover as it is now, so does it really matter? Will I notice a difference?

Using the splitter gives the sub a 3db boost in output. Everything i've seen from the guys at Velodyne suggests the splitter is the way to go. |

I was wondering what I should set the Phase control to? I have the DEQ 15R, my options for changing the Phase are 0,90,180,and 270. I have Klipsch F-3's for fronts (double 8" woofers, which barely produce any bass). Any suggestions

The quality of the splitter will determine if interference is brought into the signal. A well shielded splitter should more than suffice, no need to spend a ton of money.
Doing a quick search, something similar to this would be fine and I'm sure Big Daddy could recommend some that are cheaper from one of his great sources |

I started off with a single SPL-1200R & feel in love with it so much that I had to get another one. Dang!!! what a difference running twin subs in HT & 2 channel makes.
And now with the special Outlaw is having on the Velo SMS-1 @ $399 w/ free shipping...I had to go for it. I did call Curt at Velo first to make sure it's worth the investment because the SPL series already has a built in room corrrection system. Curt said to go ahead & get the SMS-1 because it's a much more indepth program that will inhance the SPL's performance to another level. That was good enough for me. This should be fun. |
